  • Christmas Snuff

Click image for larger version Name:	s1.jpg Views:	1 Size:	15.7 KB ID:	637953 Christmas time is upon us, and I thought I'd talk about something other than snus. I'm going to focus on Bernard Schnuphtobak.

Click image for larger version Name:	s2.jpg Views:	1 Size:	31.7 KB ID:	637952 Bernard has a new Christmas snuff this year, but I unfortunately haven't had it. I'm sure it meets Bernard's high standards though. It's called Weinachtpris, and has Bernard's typically stellar package graphics. Give it a try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

The next three aren't explicitly Christmas snuffs, but go great with the Christmas season.

Click image for larger version Name:	s3.jpg Views:	1 Size:	58.8 KB ID:	637951 First up is the rich Brasil Doppelt-Fermentiert. Dark and moist, with the scent of dried fruit. It sits comfortably in the nose, and is reminiscent of a nice Christmas pudding. It's a holiday dessert without the calories, and gives an immediate sense of contentment, and wellbeing.

Click image for larger version Name:	s4.jpg Views:	1 Size:	41.2 KB ID:	637950 Bernard Civette has an understated oaky smokiness, and is not entirely unlike a good smoked ham. This is the perfect snuff to unwind with after a day gift opening, and visiting family. Sit by the fire with a nice single malt, bask in the warm glow, and reflect on life. It's a shame it isn't packed in glass bottles as it was, but the tap box is no reason ignore this fine snuff.

Click image for larger version Name:	s5.jpg Views:	1 Size:	56.4 KB ID:	637949 Finally, Bernard Fichtennadel-Tabak. This one is crisp, with the intense scent of white pine. The scent lingers a long time, and wakes up nicely when going outdoors. This brings the alpine forest into your house, and is an invigorating pick-me-up any time.

This short introduction is in no way complete. There's plenty more snuffs from many great manufacturers, including specially produced Christmas snuffs. This is only an introduction, and I feel German snuff goes especially well with the Christmas season. Much of the joy in snuff comes from discovery, so consider this the launching point of a long voyage. Merry Christmas, and enjoy.
