From Swedish Match, and from the famous General line of snus, here we have General Onyx Gold Portion.
The snus comes in black portions (the same concept as white portions but the portion material is black rather than white) containing 0.9g snus per portion and each can 21.6g snus in total. The portions are arranged in an attractive star formation in the can.
The can is black in colour and the artwork gold with the famous General logo and Onyx branding.
Upon opening the can I was greeted with a very pleasant dark, smoky, full-bodied tobacco scent with hints of licorice, fruit and leather.
Upon placing a portion under my lip I got a long lasting, dark, smoky, full-bodied tobacco taste with hints of licorice and fruit.
The nicotine content for this snus is 10mg per portion which makes for a medium-strong snus experience. I felt the nicotine came on smoothly and boldly and was long-lasting.
Taking the longevity of the flavour and nicotine release pattern of the snus into account I kept the portion in for an hour or so. To me this is a gourmet snus and so I don't chain them, rather enjoy them as you would a fine wine or whisky.
