Some time ago I had this to say about Skruf Original Portion:

"Finally is my big disappointment...Skruf Original. Yeah yeah, some of you may be screaming heresy since Skruf Sterk is a favorite around here with some members but I have to say I blew through the can of Skruf Original in between other products and never gave it a second thought. The flavor was OK but too mild. The rose oil thing was lost on me, shoot, I can't even describe the profile now and I had my last portion just two days ago! I wouldn't buy this version again but would give another version a try at some point but for now there are lots of other brands I would try first."

So in my last order I figured maybe it was time to give the Skruf family another try and I am glad I did. Now the one thing I don't really have as a contender in my semi-permanent rotation is a mint snus.

Side Note: I find this very interesting and I may have mentioned this before but I truly doubt and I haven't seen, any snus users who exclusively use one brand, i.e. they don't even have a rotation. Many may have a handful, or even just a few, that they rotate through their lineup on any given day/week. However I would wager most have a virtual bakers dozen that they at least sample on a bimonthly basis. Anyway, back to mint snus, specifically Skruf Fresh White Slim.

Many only use mint type snus occasionally and lots of new users initially feel it is the only type they want. Now I do enjoy many of the current offerings from a variety of quality vendors but honestly none of the versions I have tried really stand out as a clear front runner. General Mint is all around solid yet it has become just too sweet for my tastes. Jak's has a more interesting profile but the saccharin is all I think about now and it confuses the taste for me. The Frosted varieties claim to be spearmint which I really enjoy but they just don't have enough of it and the cooling aspect has the effect of drowning out most of the flavor for me. So I figured it was time to try another type and give Skruf a second chance and I am very glad I did.

Finally! A mint type snus that is neither too sweet nor too cooling. The spearmint taste is there, personally it is slightly lower than I would want, but definitely a team player in the overall taste profile. The portions are slim and fit well and the cans feel to be of higher quality than many. For me the flavor balances are much more to my liking having a cooling sensation in the background with a subtle sweetness to the spearmint. Many other mints like to exaggerate one or both of these two aspects to create "bold" flavor but in most cases it just throws the whole thing off in my opinion. My only real caveat is that there is a "confectionery" quality to the taste of the Skruf Fresh White Slim that I fear may turn on me at some point but for now I really enjoy them. I am down to 4 portions left and I have been using them sparingly since about halfway through the can until I can order some more. Welcome to my team Slim
