Well folks, this ones a bit different. I was asked to go fishing with my farther inlaw. Cool! He told me we were going up stream to get into some barra. For those of you outside of Australia, barra is short for barramundi, an iconic tropical sport fish we have. People pay a lot of money and travel miles to try to catch a barra. Anyhow I showed up right on day break to find we were going upstream in a canoe. Blody hell! I'm unfit! I find my self having to paddle up stream 5 mile in front of my farther inlaw. By about 2 mile I was in trouble but was not about to show him that so I kept on paddling. Before long we paddled around the final turn and we wre there. A massive man made weir. Water pooring over it at a great rate, almost as quick as my heart rate.............almost! Mick, my farther inlaw offered my a smoke. I thought here is my chance to go 1 up. I said "Nar Mick, Ive got dip here. You wana bit?" He said yep and we both sat in front of this man made waterfall chewin Grizzly Long Cut. It took about 10 seconds and he spat the whole lot out and told me that was sh#t! I just laughed and told him to man up! I was now 1 up on him.
Started casting lures, 1 cast, 1 spit, 1 laugh. When I noticed a swirl in the water right on a spit of grizz travelling down stream. So that was it. More grizzly created a bigger spit. I cast mylure into my own spit line and I was on. After 30 minute of this animal pulling the canoe all over the creek, I landed a meter+ barra. I was over the moon. I looked at Mick and said " Learn to chew you big girl!" and laughed for about a half an hour.
Now this is my grizzly straight long cut barra story or its just another BS fishing story you be the judge. I can tell you 1 thing. If thats what I can do with grizzly, I can't wait to go fishing with copenhagen
