I tried Ettan OP for the first time last week. Upon opening the can, I noticed a smell that echoed the scent of a fine cigar. The portions were neither too damp nor too dry but just right. I popped one in and much like a white portion, at first I tasted almost nothing. The portion material was soft and appears to be the same that Swedish Match uses for it's General line. The taste came on within about 5 minutes. The flavor was pure tobacco with a hint of salt. Again, the flavor was that of a fine cigar with dark chocolate undertones. There was not even a hint of citrus. Absent as well were the peppery notes apparent in many snus varietes. This snus is exactly as advertised: pure tobacco and salt. It has a classy feel to it and I am thouroghly enjoying it. While the first portion seemed a bit bland, it has grown on me over the course of a few days and I have a genuine appreciation for the simplicity of this snus. It has a small drip to it that gives a slight throat hit. It is the only snus I have tried that is reminiscent of smoking. I would highly reccomend this snus to smokers trying to switch to snus. I think it is a good base to compare other snus to. The nic hit is typical of an 8mg snus like General OP. It is ample for quelling cravings but does not produce a buzz per se. This is one snus everyone should try at least once, even if just for comparison's sake. I'll be back with more reviews. Until then: Keep on Snusin' On....
