OK, gonna review this Havana Blossom. I did a review of the WB earlier, and I wish it wasn't so, but I don't like it.
So, this is the other non-sweet pouched chew.
Havana Blossom Plain Non-sweet, fresher & tastier.
1.5oz pouch. Maybe the WB pouch is small at 1.2oz because of the way it's cut, it just seemed smaller that the usually size, it is. I ordered these from Lil' Brown, and I also got a Stokers made Our Pride Sweet, and it's 3oz, and a standard sized pouch. It doesn't have the new warning label, I hope it's still OK.
OK, back to Havana, and the Havana does have the new warning label. It's made by National Tobacco company, and I have seen other chews made by them. Let's open it up....
Interesting... it looks like a bunch of dried leaf scrap from the backyward. Smells ok, like tobacco leaves, like a bag of Bugler rolling baccy smells. Nice, I guess.... not bad. It's not moist, rather dry, so let's see how it tastes and all.
Hmmm.... well.... it is what it says, Plain and Non-sweet. But.... there might be something to this...
Once I threw a few hunks in my mouth, the leaves are getting naturally moist. And softening.
Has a mouth stinging aspect to it, the actual taste of it is not bad. But, now having tired this and the WB, I do see why the sweetened ones are the popular ones. This rather strong in taste. This is a strong really plain nothing but tobacco leaves, dry in the bag, took a regular size chaw of it, and this has a very noticable nic hit.
This seems like something some hardcore farmer or old Amish guy would use.
This is pretty strong stuff, I feel it more than Oden's Extreme.
I can't say I like it though. But, like the WB, you never know till you try it.
I still think a non, or very very slight sweetened season blend would be good for a loose leaf chew.
This is strong stuff. I had to spit it out....
I need to collect my thoughts and this has a definiate strength to it..... you know how nic can affect your bowels? I won't say anything further on that.
Whew..... strong stuff. It's unflavored, so this is real plain tobacco. Very strong in taste and effect.
Not sure if I personally like this though. Actually, I don't think it's for me.
But, I wanted to try these non-sweet chews. So I got them. Too bad I really don't like them.
