They told me (Grimm and Triepel) that the coils are made with air-cured tobacco after i asked them in an email. But the sticks/bits aren't - just the coils/snails.
They don't taste good either, I didn't like them when I had some. My personal taste though, SG do ok ones, black cherry was the only one I could use as it didn't taste like ass, slightly sweet, but they are much nicer smoked in a pipe FYI

What the coils? Where did you get them from? I guess Mr Snuff is the best bet in the UK.
They can be chewed or smoked, better smoked but I would try them once and move on, they aren't good! I personally do not find them as an alternative to snus, snuff or any other oral tobacco. Nice smoked though.
That's a bit harsh GoVegan! I don't think anyone was laughing about it when PACT came in ... it was sad to see everyone scrambling around in the US, buying new snus freezers to put their stash in.
In the long term though I think people in ALL countries who think they want to be able to use snus for the long-term future should definitely consider finding a way to obtain cured unprocessed tobacco and learn to make lös snus for themselves. I don't think at any time regulations are going to be relaxed anywhere.
Also I think that tobacco bites have the potential to be every bit as good as snus ... just nobody's making them the right size/strength/flavour for snus users at the moment. The Swedish Match General tobacco cuts had it perfect before they stopped making and the Blue Ocean and Jagarpris ones are quite close but currently a bit too sweet. Oliver Twists all taste of liquorice/aniseed which is OK if you like that kind of thing but not if you don't! And Picannells have just the right taste but are too small. All it would take is for one manufacturer to get this kind of product right for the average snuser and bingo - they'd sell a lot of it to EU snusers.
Right now I am sitting here with an Oliver Twist Tropical in and I love it. Smeden sent me a bunch of cans from Denmark along with some other tobacco...
In my last snus order I picked up a few tins of Oliver Twists. I've gone through about 1/2 of a tin, and I have found that I get a bigger nicotine hit...
OK, so I'm down to my last 9 portions of snus, with 2 outstanding orders that I have been waiting on for weeks, and I'm getting desperate. Already started...
