    American Chew 2024

I was in the old wally mart and saw a bag of Redman Silver (sugar free). I love chew but haven't bought any in forever...AND I never tried the Redman Silver blend. .I thought I would see how much a 3oz bag went for and they told me $24.

    I was flabbergasted.

Looks like I might have to learn how to make a small batch of sugar free chew in my spare time. I'm kinda mad that it is so expensive, especially since I only use it every three or four years if I do...when I get a hankerin' for it, if you will.

How pricey is chew by you, if you know...or live in the US.

Havent check in a while, but probably pretty expensive. I got off the chew after getting sick like a dog from swallowing some Hawken I think it was called. That was back in like '85 and did cigs until around 2008.

Hawken, that stuff is like $18 a tin now. It used to be the most expensive at like seven dollars a 10 when everything else was like 2.50. I’ve never tried it

From what I recall, it was a wintergeen flavored tobacco. And just realized that was "dip" and not what you are talking about. My old next door neighbor used to do Redman, but never have tried that style of tobacco.

Hawken was billed as the old almost chew, but cut like dip. Never tried it. I do love some chew though.

It's like everything has doubled or more in price back when I was using tobacco. I was at the grocery and looked at their dip section, I was curious if they had any non-tobacco dip with nic, they didn't, but I noticed Grizzly was like $5 something, and I remember getting it under $3. Bag of chaw was about $4 from what I remember then. Then I saw a recent video of Levi Garrett, my favorite, and it is $22, the person paid. I looked at Northerner and saw the chaw listed, and I wondered if these are multi bag packs, as they were so expensive, it's crazy. I recently bought no tobacco no nic dip, as I was curious about it, and even that was just under $6 a can.

              Good to see you!

Prices are getting nuts, even here in Florida.

Which tobacco free dip did you get? I’ve never tried one…unless the Jacklinks Jerky dip can counts lol. That stuff is delicious.

Outlaw Dip. I kinda wish I got some pouches too, but I got 10 various cans of fat cut with NiC-SAFE. There are more companies that make this non tobacco dip with a nicotine alternative. But Outlaw has the biggest presence. And I watched his videos back when I was dipping and using it all. My initial critique of them all, is I think these should be cheaper, they are all about $6 a can, and I thought the tobacco tax is why everything is high. I think they should be more around $3.49. I kinda splurged to check it out, but regular dip, or nic pouches are less than $6 a can. But I was curious, and I don't know if I want to get back on the nic, it's been a long time.

Here dip is almost $8 a tin (well the dip I like). It’s just not cost effective and I know if I buy a tin I can’t just have one and done…and I’m not paying that regularly. Same with that outlaw dip. I agree if it was more cost effective I’d be down to order a sampler, but 6 bucks a tin is pretty high when I can get a tin of los for under 4 and it lasts me a week or so…not three days like a tin of dip would.

Yes, $6 is too much, and that was a curiosity splurge when I bought 10 cans, sometimes I'm crazy like that. The fake dip is not hitting as good today, it still gives an effect but it was more pronounced yesterday my 1st time. I did tell Outlaw company I got a buzz, and I thought the price should be less, less than real and nic stuff, but their price is roughly the same as Whitetail and Amarillo. I think these should no more than $3.99. And I'm still having thoughts to get some real nic. I had a cart ready at the Northerner. Maybe.
