Thats a tobacco shop in Havana. They usually have an old woman there hand rolling cigars, she is amazing. They don't get any fresher than that.

Not all cuban cigars are totally hand rolled. Some are partially machine made and partially hand rolled.

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

The same process is done for every other cigar with the exception of the origin of the tobacco. Cubans might be good, very good cigars but the mystique behind them overblown.

on the street they are $1 each. Thats because they roll the cigars with tobacco and supplies stolen from the factory and you never know what quality of tobacco they might be. Genuine quality cuban cigars can only be purchased thru a government owned shop. Theres a lot of black market cigars sold in cuba. These cigars and boxes and seals look exactly like the real thing because they are stolen from the factory. Its the tobacco that isn't up to snuff, as it were.

Genuine 100% government factory owned cigars are much better tasting than the fakes and are never discounted unless you know a government official. The fakes make it all over the world and are usually sold for around $60 to $80 a box.

When leaving Cuba you can only take 2 boxes of cigars out legally without a reciept from a government store. More than two boxes without a reciept from a govermnent store and they take them away from you and make you feel like a terrrorist. But there are ways to get around that. It helps knowing the airport manager and some customs officials that might need a new VCR or a new bike. Lmao

I hope you read my post right. The fakes are cheap. The genuine cuban cigars are not. They do get a little cheaper if you know some government officials tho. You can't bring any product from cuba into the USA legally. Unless you know someone in customs at your local airport. Its not a huge crime, they usually just take them from you and "burn" them. I have gotten 10 boxes thru customs at ohare airport, even after declareing them lol. But I had to verbally spar with the customs agent for about an hour. He finally let me go with the 10 boxes. It suprised the crap out of me and the other people that were with me. They all had theirs confiscated. We all acted like we didn't know each other and I guess I had the better story. Although I spent the entire 3 1/2 hour plane ride telling them how to get past customs. They didn't decare any tobacco because it was their first trip. It was my third trip and I knew I was going to get stopped and searched. It was great. A proud moment in my life when my customs agent zipped up my luggage and told me to go. I said with the cigars? And he said yes but don't let me ever see you bring in any cuban cigars again. Have a good day. I had won the battle. After that I found another way to bring in quanities and still declare them. It ain't easy but it can be done without any risk at all.

There is a huge differance between the tastes of the fake and real cubans. Many people think that the genuine cubans are nothing special because [although they think they've had them] they actually haven't tasted a real cuban. Those fakes are very convincing in appearance and packageing but the taste tells it all.

Hand Rolled cigars are the bomb, and Cuban's are good if you get the right ones as PP has said.
                  I've had a couple.

That reminds me PP, do you still have that list of stuff you're looking to get rid of? :P

                      I understood....

so the only way to buy genuine cigars in cuba are official shops.... and how expensive are they in the shops?

should be slightly cheaper than they are in E.U..

What is the easiest way to get to Cuba PP or someone else. I'm guessing you can't fly directly from the U.S.
