When I smoked cigarettes I'd occasionally have a cigar, usually at occasions when they were handed round, and I always struggled with them because I inhaled too deeply, like I would a cigarette. Coughing up a lung pretty much ruined the experience and I'd always end up wasting most of it. I never quite got the hang of how to smoke 'em properly, but now I'm exclusively snussing I do wonder whether the occasional cigar might go down better, in that I'd be able to avoid the deep inhale.
I just bought a sampler pack of Rocky Patel, well a month ago I think. I've had three of them so far and they were all pretty good. I bought the humidor along as I think I'll have one on the drive back home Friday if it's not raining.
I had a Kristoff a few weeks ago too. Now that was a great cigar. It lasted 1:50 too. Wowzah.
What's a good cigar that's relatively cheap (like under 7 bucks). I've had punch which is a little full and harsh and Macanudo which I was partial to although still a little strong and several Nicaraguan cigars that were basically nasty.
@jaywalker, you really can't go wrong with Patel Vintage 99.Not harsh at all, smooth, easy draw.Very nice mild/medium flavor.I can get the robusto's for about $7 and the churchill's for about $8.Try one, I bet you won't be disappointed.

To follow on from my own post, last weekend I had a couple of cigars after dinner at a family party. Nothing fancy, as all the bar had to offer was Hamlet. Thoroughly enjoyed them and I'm definitely going to try some different, better cigars in the future. It's the first time I've smoked them and really paid attention to the taste, and how to smoke them properly.
