Well, I have had a sort love hate with the straight flavor. I always wated to like it, because I'm not really into the wintergreen, and mint, though I have some Grizzly wintergreen in now, and it's OK, but I'm still not a wintergreen fan, but I think I'll finish the can, and I haven't tried mint, so I guess someday I should try it. I did like Grizzly straight a bit, and Skoal straight was OK, but I don't think I liked Red Man straight, and Lonhorn straight made me wanna hurl. Of course really, I think all this is because I am still a noob to dip, and like snus, I guess my tastes will change, and some will grow on me. But after finished the Copen Straight, I may have changed my mind on this flavor, as I really liked it, which prompted me to get a roll.

Oh hellya , Copenhagen straight long cut = Sex in my mouth. I LOVE the slightly smokey flavor and the sweet spices it blends so well together , Just an all around tastey dip. I used to be big into the flavored dips , but now I seem to really enjoy the natturall flavor

I never got to try this, as I quit my casual dipping around the time "Cope" came out. Back then, there was Copenhagen snuff and Copenhagen long cut... and that's it. That's all they needed!

I'm tempted to pick a can up next time I go out just to give it a shot, but on the other hand, I really don't want to have to be constantly spitting again. I also have pretty bad luck finding fresh dip locally.

I bought a roll from Northener. In Canada I pay close to $15 a tin, and that's on a Native reserve for one can, So a whole roll for under $30 was a no brainer. I assumed it was going to be like the snuff. I was wrong, that's what I get for not doing my research. However, it was worth it. My only straight flavor was Skoal. At first I thought the Copenhagen was bland. After a few dips I was enjoying it much more than the Skoal, which now to my recollection was too sweet.

I hate the straight flavor so I don't think I'll be trying this one out

For a Straight flavor, I think Copen is really good. It has that semi-sweet Straight flavor, but has a more earthy rich tobacco base to it.
I got some today, and haven't had any in a while. They were $2 each total. They are in plastic cans now.

I guess it tastes the same, but I think I like the fiberboard cans more, it gives it a more organic feel, may be subliminal, I don't know.

Smells like root beer! Tastes great though, classic copenhagen taste with a little sweetness.

tom502 i think you want regular copenhagen longcut (gold lid) it doesnt have the splash of wintergreen taste to it. and it comes in the cardboard can.

Bought this new can of copenhagen straight long cut. Well I dip wintergreen but I figured id try something different and im glad i did mainly i felt the wintergreen was leaving my lip feeling real raw and numb.. but the copenhagen straight is real sweet, stays moist for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, the flavor is long lasting, you get what you pay for when it comes to copenhagen

Wintergreen is the worst dip in existence

What on Earth is the flavourings they use to make "Straight"?

I really like it by the way, especially the Red Man one, but my British palate doesn't recognise any herbs or spices that could possibly make anything taste like that.

The closest thing over here we have that tastes/smells like that is Germolene and we put that on open wounds!

Sometimes wrong and sometimes right .... but ALWAYS certain!!!

With american dip i would say there are 3 kinds of "straight". One is the slightly wintergreen straight which you might find in a can of copenhagen staright(red lid) the "straight" "straight in copenhagen longcut straight(gold lid) is pretty unique and is there is not much similar to it. Note that both copenhagent straight and copenhagent longcut straight are both long cut tobacco im not sure why they dont give one of these a different name. Then for the other "straights" say skoal red seal and grizzly they all have a kind of.....sweet metallic taste i guess you could say. The taste of the skoal redseal etc straight is hard to describe. When i dipped instead of snused i preferred copenhagen longcut straight.

Skoal straight tastes like a celery stick loaded with sugar to me. I'll have to give the Copenhagen straight a try sometime, less sweet sounds better.
