    Grizzly Long Cut Natural

OK, I haven't been dipping lately, but I was craving some Copenhagen, and curious to try the new Copen Black, but the store I go to did not have it, so last time I bought this Longhorn Fine Cut Natural, because I still wanted some loose dip tobacco, and that stuff was horrid. The tobacco store is out of my way, which is why I rarely get to go there, and usually get stuff at the local grocery when I shop, and their variety and quality varies greatly. So, while I was still having this Copen crave, and was out today, but nowhere near a proper tobacco store, I stopped at this mainly cig and snack shop, and they did not have any Copen at all, no Skoal Classic, they did have an old can of Timber Wolf Long Cut Natural, but it had the old non-warning lid, so I suspect it must be really old. I wish dip cans did away with their date code, and just had an easy to read best by date on the bottom. Well, what they did have, and what I got, is Grizzly Long Cut Natural. I have had this before, but it was a long while back, and I remember liking it. I don't know the date on this can, but it is a metal lid with the warning, so I'm hoping it's decent age-wise.

OK, now to the can. Like a silver grey color, metal lid. Looks nice. Let's open it, and look and smell it. Looks fine, not very moist, but it seems OK. Smell is not bad, has a slight sweetness in the aroma. Pleasant. Let's try some in the cheeck now. I put 2 decent pinches in the cheek. Stuff is kinda lumpy, I remember it being like that before, not a detriment, just noticeable.

OK, I got some in. Taste is starting to be noticable. Not bad... I'm using a plastic cup to spit in. Not heavy salty. To me, Copen Orig LC is the king of dips, and this is not as good, per smell, cut, and taste, but this is not bad. I'm trying to recall how 1900 tasted. I've had that a few times, and liked it OK, this is different than that one. Starting to feel the nic come on now. I'm going to change sides. Hmmm, that really lived it up. Better now, kinda Copenish.

Overall score hmm... I guess 4 out of 5. Not as good as Copen OLC, similar. Maybe on par with 1900 but different. Not sure which of those 2 I prefer. Seems 1900 is aimed at being a cheaper Copen, but I think this may taste more similar. This is a nice decent natural, and the cut is easy to use.

    Never had grizzly.

I'm planning to order some Grizzly mint on my next order :-)

I tend to like aromatic dip....

Never had grizz natty but I've heard good things. Might have to give it a try one of these days.

Grizz mint is alright. Very much like skoal and timberwolf mint in taste with more of a nic hit.
Grizz green and grizz straight are my favorite grizzlys. I'm going to crack my can of grizz snuff tonight, so expect a vid.

After using this some more, I feel the need to lower the score to a 3 or 3.5 out of 5. Compared to the taste of that Longhorn Natural Fine Cut, and I emphasize the cut, because I find taste differences of the cuts. I got a Grizzly Natural Fine Cut one day, and I kept thinking I got a bad can it was so bad, it went in the trash, yet the Long Cut Natural while not great, to me, is OK, and a million times better than that Longhorn Fine Cut in taste. And I think I had a Longhorn Long Cut Natural a long while back, and I don't recall it being horrid like the Fine Cut was.

I lower my score, because I think the 1900 is better, and it's not satisfying my Copen crave. I'll have to get some of that this weekend. But the Grizzly Long Cut Natural is OK.

Don't you have Wal-Marts in Kentucky? They have a great selection and prices and it is usually fresher than anywhere else I get it.

My conclusion for Grizzly Natural LC is a fail. I got to not like it at all.

Yes, we have Wal-Marts, but I rarely get out to one. I mainly get tobacco at Kroger grocery because of convenience.

Not everybody lives close to Walmart. From Tom's house you have to travel several interstates and part of several State roads to get to Walmart. It is much closer and safer to shop at Kroger.

Beside that Griz Long Cut isn't worth the trouble.

Have You ever been to Louieville Ky,? man that place is worse than NYC.
