OK, today I got a can of Grizzly Snuff Pouches.
I was never taken to a dentist as a child, and I think I needed braces, as while my teeth are not like Billy Bob, they could have been corrected and straightened early in my life, but my childhood was not so good.
So, anyway, while I have used and enjoyed loose tobacco, I have had aspects of it that I don't like, like it getting stuck in my teeth. Upper lipped los snus is the worst. Long cut dip was tolerable, but still always migrated to get stuck in my teeth. I had planned on quitting all oral tobacco, with the interest of gum health, but I guess I got myself a bit too habituated with it's use, so I at least do want to stay away from loose tobacco.
With that in mind, I have not had any dip since, I think Dec 2010. I have been daily using portion snus of the Swedish variety, and one Denmark. So, I had the urge to get a non-candy dip pouch. I wanted the Copenhagen, but the store did not have it, so now I have gotten the Grizzly. I don't recall if I have had this before or not, in pouch form, I do recall having tried a can of the Grizzly Snuff loose a while back, and liked it.
OK, this is an initial review, because tastes may change later.
Decent looking plastic can with metal lid, and the 1/3rd waring label.
Crack the can open, very nice smell, reminicent of Copen snuff odor. Dark brownish moist pouches, not extremely bigger than the standard snus portion, but slighty longer, and seems to be fatter.
Let's put one in. I lower lipped one pouch. These are actually sleekish enough I think an upper lip would be OK.
Not an immediate taste. Spit a little, now it's juicin' some. Kinda stingy. I wonder if I'll feel a nic hit?
Taste of the juice is good. The pouch effect is different than a big hunk of loose long cut. I bet it's a smaller amount in the pouch that what one would usually dip loose. Has a slight sweetness to it, I like it. I switched sides. Kinda has a thickness of the juice. I am feeling something now. Not heavy, but noticable. If I never used oral tobacco, I'm sure I'd be feelin' it too much. Yeah, it's hittin'.
Overall, yeah, this might be something to give my upper gums a break. Taste is OK, and it does have some nic.
It's pretty good.
