OK, I have before me, an unopened can of the new Skoal X-tra Crisp Blend Long Cut.
I read somewhere this is just the apple with a name change, maybe to circumvent the new anti-flavor laws in some states. I don't know. I also read it was not just a relabeled apple. I have had Skoal Apple LC before, it's been a lttle while, but I did like it. Let's see how this is, I may not fully remember how the original Apple was.
Opening the can now.... I just tried some non-sweet chews a while ago, and I hope it doesn't affect my review of this, but I don't think it will. Can is standard size can 1.2oz. I can smell the nice apple smell from the unopened can.
Can opened, glistening moistness, and very nice apple smell. This should be good. I have never learned the art of that packing a can where one taps their finger loudly on the can, my attempt is rather bad, but oh well. Let's put some in.....
Pinches ok, I'm not an expert on that, but I grabbed a bunch threw it in the side area of my mouth. Very soft and fluffly tobacco, as all the USST dip I have had has been. 100% US tobacco too.
Taste? I don't really remember the regular Skoal apple to say this is it or not, it's not as sweet as I was expecting, but during the time I got Skoal Apple, I also got Kayak Apple, which was very good and had a stronger sweeter flavor. This is good though. The cut stays together well. Soft, moist, and of course real moist in the mouth. I'm noting a slight coolness.... like a slight menthol like effect, maybe it's just me.
This has a nice, not overly sweet, Apple taste, with a slight underlying coolness to me.
This is good. I can't see how anyone could say this is not good.
Feeling a slight nic-hit, not too heavy. I have been reviewing chews today, as I got my box from Lil' Brown yesterday.
So, a nice apple flavor, and I do think it may have some menthol in this, just slight.
