I duno when it happened to Grizzly Green BUT !!

Its no longer 100% American tobacco that really bothers me ! I know it won't bother a lot of you not being from here but I just noticed this . It may of happened a while ago and iam just slow on the uptake .... Its now 70% american and 30% god knows what or were it comes from thou it tastes just fine .

Recently quit dipping for snus. Used grizz green for years. Definately my fav dip. This saddens me. Not many things are more american than baseball and grizz green.

Atleast the flavor and strength is the same ! I would guess there getting some from the cigar areas south of florida no not cuba the others :O) so really other than it not being from the good ol USA I agree with you but atleast the product tastes the same !

I had so much stocked up that I didn't have to buy any until today and it was the first thing I noticed on the new metal lid it not being 100% American tobacco :O(

Most tobacco is a blend of foreign and domestic depending on what flavor profile they're looking for. I'm guessing in this case, it's due more to cost though. FWIW, I preferred the foreign/domestic blend when I smoked American Spirit. The all USA grown didn't taste as good to me.

That depends on the company were it comes from having bought and sold and blended thousands of lbs of loose tobacco for pipe smoking and handled a lot of other types ! Yes a LOT does come from foreign sources some types like Latakia has to come from foreign sources . But MOST American made dips and chew are or were 100% American Burley and Va bright leaf ! fermented and fire cured !I hope for nothing else than economic reasons this is not a big trend in the dip and chew industry in the USA ! There sure not buying it for taste has to be economic reasons only . The American farmer takes another wack . And there goes more farms down the shoot .

Theres just to much burley and Va tobacco in the USA to be buying it from other countries for chew and dip and most cig blends thats just my 2 cents if its worth that ! This devlopment saddens me . And should anyone that dips and lives in this country of the USA . YMMV thou

I know this a reply to own thread :O) But I had a large amount of Griizz WG LC on hand and last night opened my first can everof the 70% USA 30% other The taste is 99% the same thou this can is a tad saltier and maybe not as blow you up WG but the real change I see atleast in this tin is the dip is stil a Lc but it seems softer and that IMO is better . The down fall of this for a newbie it has always been a dip that holds together well with this softer texture it may float a little on a newbie . It has changed a tad in taste and a lot in texture from the old way but stil as good as it ever was with a inprovement in the texture IMO . atleast this can is softer time will tell if this a permanent change or a fluke of a few tins or 1 tin ! But I got the hicupps so its as strong or stronger than befor and I got a HI tolerance for tobacco nicotine ! I actually got a slight buzz from this new tin !

In short its NOT as ruf a cut now and maybe a tad weaker on the WG but that could just be me use to it is all .

I had a little of the old stuf left over in a tin and compared them and it is a diffrent softer cut in the new stuf !

This was just a FYI thing for anyone that might want to know ! I think because of the new cut IMO you get a BIGGER nicotine wack and it was BIG to begin with now it BAM even bigger 15 min and iam a heavy dipper and I stil got the hiccupps ya I know I can't spel hicupps ;)
