    But.... I don't have a wife yet Tim =))

    Luckily that's the reason I won't quit now )

At least I will reduce the dosage over the next couple of weeks ... I'll try to stick with a can for six days ...

Personally, I've found that I like dip much more than snus precisely because of the flavor. Though I also like chew over dip any day!

Yet, when I do indulge (which is rarely nowadays), I go with a bit of nasal snuff or the occasional snus. Maybe a dip once in a while, but it's hard on the gums.

Yeah, But your also the guy who is taking nicotine to get a buzz and never was addicted to ciggs, Dip or any nicotine for that matter and not trying to quit smoking or get off of dip.... Your doing it just to get the nicotine high... So doesn't count in my book

Actually, I don't use it for any kind of "buzz" or "high," because that's just silly. I'm the guy that uses the occasional dip or snus for relaxation/recreation. No, I'm not addicted. I haven't had any nicotine product in nearly two weeks now, with no cravings. I also didn't use it to get off smoking or anything else. I was never weak willed enough to allow myself to become addicted.

Simply put, you're the guy that has allowed himself to become hopelessly addicted, and you seem to be bitter and cynical toward those who aren't, yet get some enjoyment out of a simple pleasure. You're like the raging alcoholic yelling at those who know how to sensibly and occasionally take a drink or two to unwind. It's getting old.

Now, if you have anything else to say to me, make sure it's sensible. If not, then just be quiet. I don't need to hear it.

LoL, I'm neutral here.. just found it a bit funny.... :-)

It's pretty nice to hear there are people that dip or snus occasionally just for pleasure .... I wish to be just like that one day....

The guys trying to switch from dipping to smoking cigarettes probably think of dip or chewing tobacco as more addictive than smoking I guess. It's funny though think about it in like 1920-1960 or so how many people moving to the cities all over the world were trying to switch to smoking because it was cooler and women liked it more, now we've come full circle back to now where we know smokeless tobacco is 90-99 percent safer (not everyone knows the exact amount but plenty of people probably think hey your only exposing one site to a mostly natural product as opposed to lighting it on fire and exposing your whole body and lungs to fumes).

I think dip is a little more ritualized (packing the can and mostly the spiting which you learn to time) than snus so that makes it more addictive to me. That and it's weirdly appealing. That's why in theory but not always practice I like loose snus better.

It's a fine line that has to be walked, but it can be done. Regardless of what any poster in this forum thinks, snus, snuff (dry and moist), chew, and the rest don't have to be just another "smoking cessation program." These things are forms of tobacco which were meant to be used and enjoyed: and it is an enjoyable plant! The problem comes in when they are used routinely and/or excessively. Then the health problems, addiction, and so forth sets in. Like anything that's worth enjoying, moderation is key.

The idea that some have that my opinion doesn't count because I'm not a raging addict is absurd. Who would ask their local alohollic bum their opinion on fine wines or a good scotch? Would we say that any other opinion isn't valid, because they aren't dependent?

                Crazy times we live in.

Nobody has been attacking you for this issue...

Actually it's a great thing, to actually use snus and dip just as a hobby ... a pleasurable experience... even if you do it very rarely....
