No, wintergreen was always my favorite, going back to the mid-70's.

That's weird...
it's the only type that sometimes gives me nausea.. not for long... for around 20 minutes after each use............. and I always eat something before dipping..
While some people can tolerate swallowing dip...........it is not meant to be swallowed.................and will tear your stomach up (heartburn, nausea, hiccups)
Beyond that is any body's guess................ I was never a big wintergreen fan so I don't have tuns of experience with various brands of wintergreen dip............... it may be something in the flavoring they are using that is irritating you.
Regardless, this is all part of the reason I no longer dip but have switched to snus
Hope this helps
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

I don't swallow it at all, I would be sick all day if I would swallow
I have some old bits of Copenhagen Wintergreen, the first 2 cans didn't give me that much nausea...
Actually I got a nasty nausea from using Cope Wintergreen and Skoal Grape both in one pinch ............

That would make plenty of people retch. Pretty much anything wintergreen gives me nausea so I can't help ya there but even swallowing a small bit of dip juice will wreak havoc on your tummy.
My bet it is some chemical in the flavoring that is disagreeing with you.
Over time that chemical may actually alter and become more of an irritant to you (much like the TSNA count increasing over the shelf life of a can of dip) or it may have built up over time in your system (much like pot stays in your system for a while) and your system has reached its tolerance thresh hold.
Again.............I just don't see dip being worth all of this.......................that's why I quit
Regardless, I would definitely try a mint dip or a straight and leave the wintergreen alone.

Wintergreen flavor is actually a mild drug, methyl salicylate, which is related to aspirin, acetylsalicylic acid. I love the flavor and aroma of wintergreen, but many of you seem to strongly dislike it. I even remember wintergreen chewing gum. Back in the 70's, there were even some wintergreen cigarettes.
When I'm out of snus, I go for a can of Timberwolf mint. IIRC, Timberwolf is made by a subsidiary of Swedish Match, and has lower TSNA levels than other dips. I used to dip wintergreen, before I discovered real snus, and I loved it for a while, but now the scent just smells horrid.
I can't even deal with General Wintergreen Snus.
Yeah it's funny but grizzly wg is the only kind I like I can't say it's mild but it at least doesn't taste like a tobacco flavored lifesaver (skoal wintergreen) or sugar laced like cope wg. Kodiak wg was the first can I liked but that stuff gives me heart palpitations, but grizzly doesn't. For reference I am assume you're using skoal or cope and one time cope made me puke for 45 minutes with brief breaks so I'm afraid to touch it. Still like Jakobson's wg but now I'm thinking ten cans was a little much but hey for 25 bucks what the hell.

I had the same problems with skoal. I accidentally got a fine cut and it went all over my mouth and i swallowed a lot of it. I must have puked for 4 hours haha. The only things i dip now are grizzle and red man long cut.. damn I could really go for some dip after reading this thread haha
Wintergreen has always been one of my favorite flavors in nearly everything, dip included. When I take the occasional dip, it is almost always a wintergreen!

The grizzly mint is awesome I can have a huge pinch of that stuff and don't feel sick...
Yep, probably it's the wintergreen flavor... I was wonderiing because the can is like 4 months old... and stayed in the fridge...
