Tried dip today

Been snusing for a long time now, about 2 years, and figured I would try some dip. Picked up a can of copenhagen long cut and let me tell you it make me sicker than hell (yes I did spit). Think i'll pass on this type of tobacco for nicotine fix.

Copenhagen is the most subtle and natural taste of tobacco, I find noting disgusting in it. Well tastes differ..... and they can change....... in time.....

To be honest I didn't like dip all that much when I first ordered ....... but not I do 2 - 4 pinches a day..... (trying to lower to one pinch every evening) ......... I enjoy it a lot........ Skoal, Copenhagen .. Kayak (not that much) ..... and Grizzly...................

I've tried dip a few times... I've only had grizzly though, never cope. Might try it again sometime in the future just for kicks. Wasn't a huge fan of it though... especially when compared to snus.

the only problem I see in dip is the high risk of gum issues (not to mention cancer) that's all .. I'd be dipping a can a day if it wasn't all that dangerous......

I've given up smoking to be healthier and safer from tobacco related issues..... I don't want to hook up with another habit (such as a can of dip a day) ......... or like some guys I've heard dipping 2 cans a day....... no way ... I'll stick to 2 - 4 pinches at most........... until I can go with one at most............... Dip is so tasty that's what I like about it........... goes well with natural juice too

cope snuff is really strong flavored :^) and salty........ not my thing.

I think oral tobacco is an aquired taste. I hated dip when I 1st did it, I hated snus too. It took me two trys to get snus down, and when I finally was able to appreciate it, and then like it, I was open to try other forms of oral tobacco, and it took me more than once to like them. But Copenhagen orginal long cut is the best dip there is, to me, but then, some people don't like the natural dips, and some natural dips do suck, to me, and then I hated wintergreen and mint, and they ended up in the trash. In other words, for whatever reason one does it, one has to sorta forece oneself to like it in baby steps.

Copenhagen has it's own fans for sure but it is still not the best dip. I don't hate it but I don't like it. Mint and wintergreen are such a well flavors in dip can. American dipping tobacco is just different way to use tobacco.

As far as a "natural" goes, I think Copenhagen is the top. Skoal Classic, and Red Seal Nat were good too, but these are made by the same company that makes Copen.

I have dipped American Snuff's. just to try them out, but I don't even lower lip snus so I have felt no need to try dip other than curiosity. And I am not that curious.

I hated Copenhagen Long Cut the first time I tried it. Put it in the freezer, took it out about a month later and LOVED it.
It's probably one of my favorite dips now.

Yeah, What I meant to say was that wintergreen is an American flavor and it's not as common elsewhere
but it's an exotic flavor to do. Of course is everybodys personal thing.

Just got myself a can of Skoal Mint and it's pretty good. Snus is next to impossible to get so I'm moving to dip now.

If you're in NYC, how is snus near impossible to get? Sure, dip is a bit easier, but there are a number of locations around the city that sell snus. You can get General at a cigar store on the north side of W. 14th street (I believe it was between 5th Ave and 6th Ave), Down in the village on 2nd Ave in between 5th and 6th street on the west side of the road there's a store that sells Jaks, two or three varieties of Thunder and Odens Extreme, and there's a store in Williamsburg at 204 Bedford that has the same stock as the 2nd Ave store, along with another cigar store out in Astoria that has the same stock again. De La Concha near 59th street on Avenue of the Americas also had a General fridge last time I was in there, though it's been a while. It's just as expensive to buy dip, so it seems like a no-brainer to me to just hit up one of those places periodically and stock up if it's inconvenient to have to go often. Just make a trip each week/month and buy enough to hold you over until the next trip.

precious, the mouth cancer risk on dip is drastically overblown. The worst thing in dip for your mouth is the high sugar content/enamel eroding artificial sweeteners. Statistically, though, a pack a day smoker is several times more likely to develop any variety of oral cancer than a can a day dipper, all other factors being equal.
