Ordering dip to Canada thru US Northerner

Whats up guys? Never tried snus but am I big tobacco user over half my life...currently smoke and dip. I am canadian so dipping these days is more of a treat than a staple because of ass raping taxes. I do remember when I was in highschool getting Kodiak for $5 a can and now it is $13-15??? what da fu? That was just 10 yrs ago! Really does suck to be a dipper here in this country which is a shame for us because there's alot of dippers in extreme SW Ontario and being so close to Michigan.

Well anyways back to the thread title, I was wondering how Ontario users fair from ordering thru Northerner U.S and what I should expect in taxes.

I can tell you I will never pay those a-holes 15 bucks for crappy ass skoal or stale cope again. I pay 2.64 in MI for grizz a can! The only time I get my "treats" is by going to the states and somehow having them magically "teleported" back to my house

I'm not sure on taxes. There's a chance customs couldn't catch it. For dip though i'd reccomend lilbrown.com with their cheaper prices. Enjoy your dip, Grizz Green is my favorite, too. Save the lungs, rock the gums!

Kodiak and Grizz are made by the same company. Grizz is their value brand. Grizz is $1.33 a can here but Kodiak is around $3 or so.

          Can you believe that?

Lilbrown.com carries General Loose for $30 a roll.

          Northerner charges double :|

I ordered a roll of Copenhagen Long Cut Straight from Northener not too long ago. It around $30. Compared to $15 a tin I pay in Nova Scotia, that was one hell of a deal. I got dinged for $14 and some change in duties, but even then that was a hell of a deal. However, I have heard some horror stories about other Canadians who have gotten dinged with some pretty mean duty fees, so be careful there.

Thanks for all the info guys! Oh ya if anyone is in Ontario and wants to save a bit of money compared to buying at the corner store, try the Indian Reservations. They sell a lot cheaper and don't usually care who they sell it to (don't have to be one of them). I recall $4 a mini tin I paid last summer. Not sure what the regular ones are but I will check it out soon. I would say the very worst places would be 7-11 or Mac's, avoid at all costs

$22!!! For something that they pay around $4 for in the US. That is downright extortion!

Just picked up a couple of cans of dip in WA state , skoal peach $6.45 , cope WG $5.35 , and a pouch of redman chew for $7 , I'm not a dipper by any means I just like to dabble every once in awhile so for me a few times a year I will pick up some and enjoy it and then just Snus , use my ecigs and a cigar and pipe every so often , I'm so glad I quit smoking now I just enjoy tobacco and not a slave anymore

                        Haha, yeah...

Just wanted to post up. Got my first shipment from Northerner the other day.

                        Ordered

1 tin Copenhagen Extra Long Cut Natural
4 tins Copenhagen Long Cut Straight

Worked out to 22 dollars shipped.

                        Then 57 dollars from Customs.

                        Duty - 11.57
                        GST - 3.90
                        PST - 31.08
                        Handling - 9.95

BC REALLY effs you over on the taxes. It still worked out to 15 dollars a tin when its all said and done, which is still 3 dollars cheaper than the crap you get at the stores up here. For cope, I can ONLY find Wintergreen, Long Cut, and Snuff. That is it. While waiting for my package, I ended up improvising some Canadian Cope LC, with a tin of Skoal Straight, and it was horrid. I cant remember how just the LC alone tasted, but I know it didnt taste nearly as good as this Extra Long Cut Natural America tin. All in all, it took about 11 business days from ordering, to arrival, during the holiday rush of mail service.

I will say, Im a little wary of the package being declared "Swedish Food." But I will not hesitate to order again, simply because the product is much better quality than we get up here.

Got my first shipment today, 21 cans of mixed snus and a ice tool. Payed about $130 from buysnus.com with express shipping and my duty was only $37 to Ontario. Took 13 days for shipping but I ordered over the holidays so a pretty reasonable shipping time if you ask me

No offense man, but I don't know why you paid extra for express shipping when normal post takes about the same amount of time to arrive.
Personal experience, and this is just me and not a paid endorsement but I have had far more luck with Buysnus over Northerner.

But no matter what if I was to really keep stock of my orders I really feel I am close to 50/50 odds with customs duty.
