I was asked to come to the dark side, I made a choice and said...

Well on my way to work I stopped for a bag of chew and all they had was redman loose leaf. Seeing the skoal snus ad my eyes wandered to the dip rack, where a can of skoal citrus LC caught my eye. Next thing I know I am walking out with it and packing a lip.

Some of you probably know that I was never a dipper and never cared for it, taste and smell wise. But with my matured tastes, I actually found it much more flavorful and satisfying than I imagined. I am thoroughly enjoying this can, and I just maybe will get another.

Nice taste and decent nic hit, not overly sweet either, good citrus flavor/aroma.

They have new can styles now, with an all metal lid, pretty neat actually, seals good too. Mine was nice and fresh as well, sell by date is the end of july.

Citrus is basically sour skittles in a can, it was pretty good though, berry blend is crap.

Yeah, it does taste like sour candy, probably why I like it, lol. I had the berry years ago and hated it, but then I didn't like dip so IDK. I thought the apple was ok, might get a can of that next.

        Citrus is alright.
You'll get tired of it once you finish the can, but it's good occasionally.

I've always been curious about their Apple blend. But I'm not a dipper, so I never really took the chance.

I saw the Citrus at the store the other day... The bright colors on the package are tempting... I think I might give them both a shot.

I wish I'd gotten this isntead of Grizzly Snuff, which I am finding I am not liking much. Though they probably didn't have this, their selection was bad.

I really like the Berry Blend. Apple is good, as is the Peach.

I actually dug the vanilla flavored one. I don't think they sell it anymore which is a shame.

Go for it! I just bought a can of apple this morning, I should have checked the date first though, it says sell by april 30th, the citrus was july 24th. I am loving both, the apple tastes the same as I remember it, but I am actually enjoying it now.

I'm not a dipper either, but I have been dipping all day, back and forth between apple and citrus and it is rather enjoyable.

Try a can or so, hope you like it, I was surprised that I did

I don't recall seeing it at the store, but northerner has it in stock :

I tried it back in high school, along with alot of the skoal flavors, didn't really appreciate dip until recently though.

You were right, I still like the citrus and would buy it again but its not an all day dip, if I use it back to back too often I do get tired of it, after a while it becomes too sweet. I have been using the apple all day though, and am still liking it alot. I'll use the citrus in between to switch it up though. But as of now the apple is my favorite. I gotta try some more flavors again now that I actually like dip.

I guess peach or cherry will be next, and of course the xtra crisp.

What is the difference between chew and dip? I have always thought that "chew" was a slang for dipping tobacco.

A common misconception, even here in the USA. Chewing tobacco is actual tobacco leaves with a syrup/molasses coating that you place in your mouth, between the teeth and cheek, you chew on it periodically to keep the juices/flavor/nicotine flowing. The most common type here is loose leaf, followed by plug, which is basically loose leaf pressed into a "brick" and held together with a sugary binder. There is also twist, which is braided leaves, twist is alot drier than loose or plug.

Dip is similar to los snus, except it is a course cut. From largest to smallest there is extra long cut, long cut, mid cut, fine cut, and snuff cut. The smaller the cut, the faster the nic flows, the fine cut and snuff are the most similar to snus. You "dip" your fingers into the can and pinch out your desired amount of tobacco and place it between your lip and gums, almost always on the bottom of the mouth, on either side or directly in front.

Dip is also called moist snuff. It is america's version of snus, which was introduced by swedish immigrates, of course the american version will give you cancer and kill you rather quickly.

                          Allegedly....

It will do a real number irritating your gums and lip. That is why I like snus better.

Every now and then I get a hankering for some dip.

Usually I use some chew and it covers it....I like chew every now and then.

Other times I will use half a tin of dip and then toss it.

Nicodude.....try some Copenhagen Straight. If you like chew......you may love it. I keep a tin on hand but never seem to crack it. I need to....it expires this week.

Went to the store yesterday and picked up a can of skoal peach and skoal xtra crisp blend. They were sold out of the xtra crisp longcut, so I went for the pouches. I was hesitant and first, but I actually like the pouches alot. I still like longcut, but the pouches are alot neater and juice up better.

The crisp is awesome and has replaced apple blend as my daily go to dip. The xtra nic gives me a great buzz. The taste is great, sort of like a mix between apple blend and the sour apple pouches they used to have a while back. Great flavor, great nic, highly recommended! I do like the pouches, but will probably get a can in longcut too.
The peach is great too. I like peach better than citrus blend, but not as much as apple, and of course the xtra crisp takes the cake.
So far, xtra crisp blend is my go to, followed by apple blend, with peach periodically to switch up and citrus for dessert.

Only problem is that I have been using dip everyday, and snus less and less. Now snus just tastes bland, the only one I still crave is gotlands gul, everything else just doesn't hit the spot like dip does But hey, at least if MD keeps me from ordering snus online, I still have my dip, and cancer

I tried cope in high school and hated it, but then I didn't care for dip, so maybe I would like it now. I do prefer straight tobacco flavor in snus. I suppose I should give it another shot, I may just enjoy it now. I remember trying the old copenhagen black, which was bourbon flavored, they don't make it anymore, but that one wasn't too bad when I had it last.

"Straight" is more of a sweet flavor. It is nothing like cope natural....it is more like a chew flavor.
