    Canada Customs

    Hi,

I will be going to the USA in about a month. I want to know how many can of skoal (or other brand of smokeless tobacco) i can bring back "legally" to Canada.

    Thanks,
    Charles

So it's about 5-6 cans? (each)

it said on the website that we can bring back 200g of "prepared tobacco" so it should be chewing tobacco or dip...

Chucky, I live in Michigan and I have traveled to Canada numerous times. A can of Skoal weighs 34.02 grams. That means you can bring across 6 cans without being dinged with a tax.

I have taken over 10 into Canada before without them saying anything, as your customs seem to be a lot less paranoid then the American customs.

Dip is cheap in Michigan. Stokers 99 cents per can. And all other major brands dip are under 5.

Bought a can of skoal once in Windsor for $17 dollars........last time I ****ing did that....

Yep, a carton of smokes or 200g tobacco per person: http://canadaonline.about.com/od/cus...accocdnres.htm

My parents brought me back a 5-pack of Skoal Straight about a month ago - $15.00 at the duty free at Windsor/Detroit. Apparently the variety was limited to Skoal and Grizzly products at the duty free.

I only tried Skoal for now, about 10-12 cans. I just bought my 1st copenhagen 10 minutes ago. After i opened it, i look at the back and it was made Sept 12 2011.. what a steal for 16 :'( lol

wow simulpost... $17 here as well and less than an hour from Detroit

Edit: If you are near a native reserve you may be able to find it cheaper. Skoal and Copenhagen runs around $10 at the reserve near me.

Is there any tricks i can do with my can of copenhagen made on the September 12 2001? It is kinda dry and hard to make it stick together. I added a little bit of cognac in it, i put a wet scott-towel in it and put it in the fridge.

It don't really enjoy it right now lol.. was better with my skoal can

                    Wow, 17 bucks a can!?!?
If my fave tobacco products cost this much I would be looking into a DIY method to make it myself.

Just for my information, do a lot of store/grossery sell skoal products?

Where can i buy some in the USA (Maine)?

Snus from Vancouver. That's the price for a single pack of General.

                            Hi,

I just receive a note that one of my order was receive by CanadaPost in the mailbox.
I have fined (customs) to pay for 24.41 $.

I bought 3 cans of US dip the 29 June and 3 other the 3 of june but the 2 orders got shipped the exact same day.

Is it possible that they sent my order in only one package?

                            Thanks,
                            Charles

If it was 2 packages I believe you would get 2 notices from Canada Post. $24.41 seems a bit high for 3 tins, that is approximately what I would pay for 5. It looks like they probably sent all 6 at once.
