    Ok. So, if they charged me 24.41 for 6 cans, that will still be a really good deal.

    If the 24.41 if for only 3 cans, it's like if i purchased them at regular price in Quebec.

    Let's hope i got all 6 together

    So, Skoal and other diping products are expensive everywhere in Canada.. I thought only Quebec paid a lot for wine ( SAQ - Société des alcools du Québec) and alcool and tobacco

      The tax/duty rate for tobacco varies by province so what you pay in Quebec will be different from what I pay in Ontario. For your sake I hope that is for all 6, otherwise that is just hard core. I'm curious as to whether that is for 3 tins or 6, so let us know once you've gotten your parcel!

        Hi Crullers,

        so, there is the answer from Amy, from Northener:

        Dear Charles,

        I am sorry however we do not ever combined orders when packing. I am sorry about the charge from customs, this is out of our control. You are required to pay all taxes in your country upon entry of your package into your country. We do not have anything to do with customs and what they charge.

        If there is anything else I can do for you, please feel free to contact me.

        Thank you, Amy

        So, for 24$, it will be a steal from Canada Duties :'( hehe. I will go get it this evening so i will come confirmed right after.

        Anyway, i hope that it is not all package that got duties... I tried it an i pay about the same thing i paid in quebec... So let's see my other package (waiting for 3 others)...

          Hi,

          so it was 24.41$ for only 3 cans. It is kinda expensive.

          Anyway, if i calculate everything, here is my receipt:

          Grizzly Mint Pouches --> 3.32
          Skoal Berry Long Cut --> 4.27
          Skoal Xtra Wintergreen --> 3.32
          total--> 10.91
          shipping --> 3.96
          Total + Shipping --> 14.87$

          Customs fees:
          Duty --> 8.68$
          TPS/TVH --> 0.99$
          PST/TVP --> 6.24$
          Handling fee --> 8.50
          total customs fees: 24.41

          24.41 + 14.87 = 39,28 / 3 (cans) = 13,09.

          So, we bought every can here at 16,16 with taxes so: 16,16 - 13,09 = 3,07$ of saving per can lol

          So it is still a good deal to purchase from the United States but we need to wait a little longer before we receive it.

          By the way, i like Grizzly Mint as i'm doing one pouche right now

          (OH AND THE DATE ARE FRESHER THAN WHAT THEY SELL IN QUEBEC.. THE BEST I HAD IN QUEBEC WAS 19/12)

            Ouch! My heart goes out to you fellas!

            I'm not sure about the laws, but could you guys ask some American friends to mail you dip? I'm not sure if you would still get slapped with the tax, but if you didn't it would save you a lot of money. I'm in China now, but back in Kentucky I was buying 2x cans of Grizzly for less than $3.00 US. I think after taxes it was always like $2.81 or something like that.

            Copenhagen/Skoal are both "expensive" by dip standards even in the United States. Most Skoal varieties were $3.00-4.50 per can & about the same for Copenhagen (with the exception of a few newer varieties, such as wintergreen long cut, etc, which are quite cheap at 2x cans for around $3.00). Of course the prices vary state to state and from my experience Kentucky has some of the lowest tobacco prices in the United States.

            Best of luck guys! If I was back in the U.S I'd try to mail you guys a few cans.

                  Order some Grizzly. It's cheaper & tastes way better (in my opinion). Grizzly wintergreen is hard to beat.

                    Holy crap. Would it be any cheaper for me to send you dip or would you still get the massive customs fees?

                      Yup, i really enjoy Grizzly Mint right now but it does not taste as strong as Skoal.

                      I put two pouches in my mouth. That's the first time i try pouches. This is good but i prefer long cut.

                        I think it can be cheaper if you send me some because you can send it as a gift and write a stupid value for money like 2$.

                        I think they send the package in a northener box and in the label, you see that it is smokeless tobacco so there is a lot of chances that i got customs fees for it.

                          Wow $8 each that's pretty harsh. Did they send in a large cardboard container that would fit like 10 cans? The one time I ordered dip from Northerner they sent my 5 tins in a container that could have fit 10. When ordering snus from Sweden they put 5 in a smaller envelope. The smaller envelopes sometimes pass by customs. If Northerner US shipped the same way they would be getting more orders from me both for dip and Pioneer snus which I'd really like to try. Otherwise you might as well order 10 at a time and avoid the ridiculous "handling fee" as you mentioned.

                              And you do order from northener for your Sweden dip??

                              They send it in a box that can contain more than 10 cans i imagine.. And on the label, they wrote SNUS so it is pretty easy for customs to charge fees for this.

                              On my second order, i got 21.63$ of customs (i though it was 23.63) so it's a little bit better (LOL) but the handling fee is about 8.50(+tx) and the reste is like 3$ per cans... So, if i buy 10 cans, the handling fee will still be 8.50 but the rest will be 3$ * 10 = 30$ + 8.50... So about 38.50 $ of duties. The cost of 10 box will be about 40$ so we are now at 78.50 / 10 = 7.85$ per can.

                              I ordered this from Sweden:

                              Thunder Frosted ES, Longer+ - 2 pcs. [Shipped]
                              Jakobssons Melon, Strong Portion - 2 pcs. [Shipped]
                              General Original, Long Portion - 1 pcs. [Shipped]

                              Lets see how much customs i get charged with.

                              Is the shipping time about the same that we got from USA (About 10-14 days?) I ordered it the July 12.

                                I've ordered snus from Northerner with no problems. There are other reputable online retailers as well.

                                I've had my orders arrive anywhere between 7 and 30 days. If customs gets a hold of your delivery it will take longer to get to you.
