Hey guys, just joined snuson forums. I've been primarily a snuser for many years while also dipping once in a while. Right now it's a pain to get my hands on snus so I've been back to dipping my standard grizzly wintergreen. I decided to be spontaneous and try straight since I never have before in my life (always wintergreen). Problem is wintergreen does some damage to my gums and straight seems to be softer on them. I was wondering why cope straight is such a different consistency. It's so much more oily than any other dip I've had and it makes it much harder to get a pinch. Anyone else have this problem? advice?
Question about cope straight longcut

cope straight longcut actually has "a splash" of wintergreen in it, which for me means too much wintergreen. I'f you're looking for "straight" get regular copenhagen longcut (gold lid not the red lid) has a cardboard bottom rather than palstic like longcut straight will give you. The standard longcut is definitely what i consider "straight" because it doesnt have that wintergreen flavoring in it. Also has way better consistency. Give it a try.

Thunder is right. Cope Straight does have a bit of Wintergreen in it and to echo Thunder, is too much for me as well. The damage could be due to the coarseness of the cut along with the mint aspect in the Wintergreen. Once it's available or, if its out by you, try Cope Southern Blend. Smooth smoky flavor and pretty easy on the gums. :-)

Didn't care much for the southern blend. Havent been a real dipper since i found snus but my all time favorite dip was the cope hickory.Originally posted by The StigThunder is right. I spent a brief period in a small suburb in the south where even though everyone's parents made atleast 200k a year they all wanted to pretend to be dumb rednecks....When cope southern blend came out the only thing going through my head was how every dumbass there was going to be going around waving there can saying "its says southern thats so us"Originally posted by The StigI'll give ya that one! I grew up in the south (Tennessee and Florida mainly) and was pretty much raised on Copenhagen fine. The smell of Rooster snuff kind of reminds me of Cope Hickory. :-)

You'll find that in just about every well to do suburban town in Tennessee and Central Florida, from my experience anyway, with anything that has "Southern" attached to it Thunder. ;-)
Found it just last year when we went to visit some friends that live near Brentwood, TN. They make quite a bit of money in the Auto Leasing biz, originally from NJ and actually said "We're Southern now because we drink "Southern Style sweet tea"! :::::::::::backslap to the head:::::::::: like there is any other kind of sweet tea!
I immediately followed up that epiphany with "they truly are Southern honey, God love 'em!". For those not southern, "God love 'em" is a nice way of saying "Boy, they're stupid!" . ;-)

My one year of living in the south was pretty awful to say the least. It's not for everyone and I'm one of those people. I hate every arguement about anything turning into an arguement over who's truck is shittier. I hate everything done being attributed to "cuz we from da south" I was a junior in high school when i lived there in a VA history class and everyone except me thought thomas jefferson was the first president because "his house is like 10 minutes away." The only good part was the lack of truancy laws allowing me to go to school wehenever the hell I wanted to and still getting A's.Originally posted by The StigYou'll find that in just about every well to do suburban town in Tennessee and Central Florida, from my experience anyway, with anything that has "Southern" attached to it Thunder. ;-)

I always lol'd at the "southern style sweet tea". That was basically what school was like for me too, Thunder. "Your truck is a piece of shit." "no, yours is." and "Do you have a chew?" "Skoal wintergreen" "that's for pussies. Grizzly is for men."Originally posted by FrostedI knew he was committed as an actor but I think he went too far in his latest role as Princess Diana

Perhaps if I had grown up there I would feel differently but the lifestyle and location is just flat out not for me. It would get to a point where i was blatantly insulting people and they didn't even realize it as they failed to pick up on my sarcasm. It's very hard to make friends when your constant state of mind if how much smarter you are than your peers. I really wish I could have enjoyed my time there but i was way too far out of my boundary and patience limits. I"ll never forget my first day of school there.Originally posted by halocogI always lol'd at the "southern style sweet tea". That was basically what school was like for me too, Thunder. Random asshat: "hey you know what truck i drive right?"
me: "No....i dont know who you are."
Random asshat again: "Well you know its better than billy-bob's truck right?"
That's when I knew it wasn't going to work out.
