My favorite Red Man is Select. I've also had Silver, which is lighter on the sugar and is supposed to use mainly fruit sugars, but is also very good.

If you're not used to chews, you'll be surprised at the amount of juice it creates. It's an irritant, so if you have any gum problems or a sore throat, it'll make it that much worse.
Don't have any gum problems ... hopefully won't get any....

To a certain extent I think chew is even more harmful than dip on the gums....

Anyway I'll give it shot ... sounds tasty

I guess I'll have to try these, the only chewing tobacco I've had is some apple pigtail ..

Can anyone recommend something ... so the redman's are great..

There is quite a list here.... http://www.northerner.com/en/snus/No...g_Tobacco-462/ Which one should I go with?
I'll recommend to try Red Man Golden Blend, Red Man Silver and Beech-Nut Moonshine +Beech-Nut Wintergreen.
The basic chews are basicly just sweet tobacco leaves like Levi garret etc. but if you want some difference try to get those. Btw Moonshine has been "strong alcohol" in the US in real life so the flavor is like that. I didn't know that first.

        Hey, thanks a lot

I'll put Redman and Levi Garett on my next order...

How many portions do you make out of a chew bag... medium pinches lets say... ?!

I think it depends just how big pinches you take. It's usual to take much more than examble snus or dip.

Good choices. When I chewed regularly, back in the 70's, Redman and Levi Garrett were my two favorites.

Thanks, will order one or two bags of each Redman and Levi to see how it goes....

Going to have them ocassionally anyway ... and stick to dip.

Still dipping or you've quit for good? ;-)

I have still quit. Today is day 21 without tobacco. I wanted some this morning, but luckily I threw it all out, last week.

As far as chew is concerned, southern pride and levi garrett are about the same. Morgans chew and starr chew is to be avoided. Stokers is pretty good but leaves some to be desired. Red man green is amazing, golden blend is okay.

Tried the Grizzly fine cut natural over this weekend. I had a nice dark texture and stayed together pretty well. My only other comparisons would be cope/redman/camel fine cut and I thought it was close to cope but not as good and much better then redman or camel.

I was actually looking for Timberwolf fine cut natural but nobody carries it around here.

I've only heard bad things about grizzly fine cut natural, but the long cut is really damn good. And longhorn fine cut natural is almost identical to grizzly snuff.

I tried Grizzly long cut Natural last week and thought it was great. Nice salty, smoky flavor.
