Well, I was really impressed with Copen's Straight, and while I still think it's great, and the best Straight I had, it did get old to me after a while, and I was wanting a Natural blend. This happens to me with chew too, yeah it's good, but it's just sweet, and it gets old after a while.
If you're a Copenhagen snuff fan you gotta try Camel Dark Milled. I've been using Copenhagen snuff since I was nine years old (I'm now 45) and have tried many US made dips and have never strayed from Copenhagen snuff in all those years. Until recently. I was at my normal smoke shop picking up my usual two rolls of Copenhagen (real rolls, 10 cans each) and I noticed a display advertising Camel's new dip. They have their Dark Milled and Wintergreen longcut. I bought a couple cans to try and picked up a can of Wintergreen for my dad (he uses Grizzly). In all the years I've chewed (started back when it was 38 cents a can and a roll was eight cans. There was Copenhagen snuff, original Skoal, and a newbe called Happy Days which came in wintergreen and raspberry-yuck! Thats all there was besides the bag and plug stuff) I have never found anything I felt compared to my Copenhagen until now. This Camel dark milled is damn near identical to Copenhagen. I was absolutely blown away. The next day I went back and bought two of their five can rolls.(the introductory price was around $2 a can) I gave it a true real life test and it stood up. I never thought I'd say this in my lifetime, but I decided to switch. Mainly due to price as I go through about three cans every two days. Around the same time period I had discovered The Northerner online. I purchased within a couple orders every loose/strong loose snus they had to try and find one I really liked. Now some six months later the Copenhagen and Camel partial rolls are vaccum packed and in the freezer along with some 200+ cans of Skruf Xtra Stark, General, General Xtre Sterk, Roda Lacket and Grov all loose of course. I found these to be my favs until I tried this cheap stuff I had saved for last to sample-LD loose. I fell in love and decided this will be my snus of choice. This was just a week or so ago. I go online to stock up because of the PACT act thinking I'd buy a couple hundred cans to vac pack & freeze until hopefully it's available again, Guess what? Yep that's right I can't get it. Now I'm pissed off Anybody out there NOT in the United States willing to help out a fellow snuser? Maybe something American I could send to somebody for the favor in addition to payment, of course. It is my understanding a person can legally send LD snus to the US but businesses cannot sell and ship it to US customers. HELP.
I didn't like the pouches, the taste was good, but the pouch just wasn't pleasant. If you've never dipped before, I reccomend getting something long cut, and just put a little in your side cheek/gum area. Try to keep it in place, and spit when needed. Don't use too much, I have found dip has a different nic effect.
I might try the long cut (loose?), but Tom, I'll tell you what that grizzly dip was like getting hit in face with a sledgehammer. I had to spit it out..lol
Dip, for one not used to it, will pack a nic punch, it don't knock me flat anymore, but it still hits.
Is the Camel Dark Milled a fine cut? I'm just not good with fine cut, esp very small like Copen Snuff. But I do like the taste a lot. I know to only get Long Cut now.
Yes the Camel dark milled is fine cut. About the same as Cope snuff. Yea fine cut does take some getting used to but I think it's worth the effort.
Well I wonder where the hell I can buy this to try??? Another attempt after work (this time to the Walmart) to find my frickin Grizzly Natural Pouches OR Timberwolf 'Natural' packs (pouches) and they had neither. Well they had both in loose dips but none in any pouches. This is getting moAr futile to try some of this dip that strikes my fancy than ordering snus these days. Something strange going on and you would think here in PA, they would be throwing every selection of every brand in our faces with the 'no tobacco tax' and all...
Thanks, yea I know. I'm trying to 'broaden' my horizons a bit so to speak since I leaned on good ol'e cope snuff for 30 years and finally broke away from it thinking I could find something like the 'Grizzly' or 'Timberwolf' being much cheaper that could potentially -float my boat- in the event snus becomes too big of a pain in the ass to obtain those brands I most enjoy and/or to simply switch things up a bit. And I have me two print coupons for each brand so mentioned above it just irks me that I have to apparently 'blow a sailor' to obtain as it can't be found yet in numerous tobacco dip heAvY (brick n mortar) shops...
OhhhAhhhhhhh... Im' having an attack!!!! HaLp. Too much thinking it took to write the above....^
Thanks, Bigblue, for posting the info about the free coffee flask from Copenhagen. Just signed up for one. That'll be nice for the drive to work full of mud with a lip of Nick and Johnny. 10 to 12 weeks for delivery, though? Damn. And Skoal still hasn't sent me my bottle opener I ordered 2 months ago.
You can go to https://www.skoal.com/default.aspx right now and get a free slap can coozie. Also enter once a day for a the next 9 weeks for weekly prizes and every time you enter for the grand prize of a 2011 jeep rubicon.
My bottom left gum looks like a whores you know what from the skoal spearmint last night, for seven bucks I expected it to be easier on my gums than Grizz straight apparently not. The stuff smells like camel frost but thankfully doesn't taste that bad.
I'm surprised you haven't tried the Apple Jack yet.
I was looking up various tobacco products and that caught my eye. Growing up in the 80's, one of my friend's dad loved that stuff. Back in Indiana in those days, Apple Jack was all over the place. I'm not sure if it's around here in N.E .Florida.
Used to dip every day, switch to snus 3 years ago, still dip every few months, and on monday I got my usual Skoal apple in peach along with Copenhagen...
God made two kinds of dogs in this world. You are either a lap dog or a scent hound.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Nasal Snuff. I hope you will find this Guide both helpful and informative. I have tried to pool together information and resources that I have collected over my time using snuff so that you can have them all in one place. ...
