    Cope Smooth Hickory

    Anyone else try this yet?

I like it. I don't taste any hickory, but it's a good dip. It's got more flavor than Original and they claim it's a long cut. I guess for Cope it is a long cut but it's really not that long. Even so, it stays packed well. I found it doesn't pack well in the can but holds in the lip.

The taste is full and has a good, dark tobacco taste. The flavors enhance the tobacco rather than overpower it like Straight flavors. Lasts a good 30~40 minutes and I was able to move it around without issue.

I thought it was decent, it reminded me, I guess, of Skoal Classic, as I didn't get the hickory either, so I got a decent natural dip. I believe this is discontinued.

For some reason, the flavor of my Grizzly Wintergreen long cut reminds me of hickory smoked bacon. Weird, but I really enjoy it.

Wikipedia says that only the Cope straight is discontinued. Maybe they still make the whiskey and hickory blends or maybe they haven't all ended yet on the tobacco stores. I have still cans of Cope straight and the made by date on the back is 20 June. If they are just discontinuing the straight because there is now Copenhagen straight.

Well, I hear the opposite, as someone even bought a new roll of Cope Straight, even with the new can labels. But I do know the Copenhagen website does not mention the "Cope" products at all.
