    Tsna question

Hi. New to the form. I got a few questions i need opinions on. I really cant afford and good snus anymore. My question is- if the tsna level of most snus is 2-2.8 and timberwolf is 7.5 how much more dangerous is it? They say almost no one gets cancer from snus so bump up the tsna level by only 5 more how much more dangerous can it be?

Timber Wolf has 3.0 TSNA, according to the study, which is pretty old. I'm sure the levels are lower now.

I would not worry about the TSNA levels since there is no proof whatsoever that smokeless tobacco causes cancer (or any other disease). I think the whole TSNA thing is way overblown; not to mention that the TSNA levels have been falling as manufacturing processes have improved over the years.

You'll be fine better off than you were smoking (if you were) I'm using a lot of dip because I kind of like it sometimes and my snus stock is low and I want to wait until I'm back at college to reorder. I'm sure the TSNAs are higher because stores here just hold onto their stuff. There's hardly any T-wolf, Longhorn, Redman around here and everything is expensive and I don't like paying taxes so I've been using cope xlc, cope straight, Grizz, and occasionally skoal and cope lc.

The TNSA levels in dip are not remotely as problematic as the high level of sweeteners and the stomach upsetting nature of dip juice. Snus is just way more discreet in public, if you're concerned at all about that. Deerslayer you say you can't afford good snus anymore. Is it because of taxes or the availability problems? As far as cheap goes, V2 makes a lot of stuff that is priced similarly to dip, before shipping of course, which means that a bit larger orders are a good idea to minimize the effect. I'd bet if you added everything up over a few months time the diff between dip and snus would not be consequential--a few cents a day if even that.

I agree. Much better than cigarettes but enough former dippers have spoken about the issues they have experienced to make me stick with snus

+1 But I also have to say, when I dipped it was 2 cans every three days. With snus it is roughly a can a week. For some reason, i just don't use as much snus. The cans of Los are roughly 12-13 grams heavier than dip. I can keep a pris in for upwards of two hours, and i just don't feel the need to chain it like dip. something to think about. At my current levels of useage I spend about 350 bucks a year on snus. even at $2 a can grizzly it would be 8-10 bucks a week wich is like 500 bucks a year. Also to re-iterate what Darwin said TSNA levels are a moot point at this stage of the game. And to add to what he said my biggest problem with dip is that it's harsh on the bottom gums for whatever reason. Check this link out... http://cro.sagepub.com/content/15/5/252.full

I would be most worried about the fiberglass.

I've heard that fiberglass is easier to handle if you wash it down with motor oil

I can tell you right now that unless your dip is falling off the back of a truck, dipping is going to be more expensive than snus. To get the nicotine in one sterk portion, you need a pretty huge pinch of dip. Seconding what bigblue said, a can of snus will go a hell of a lot farther than a can of dip. That, and if you live in a state that has mid-high tobacco taxes, a can of Copenhagen is going to cost you almost $6 if not more, and Timberwolf is probably like $4.50 after taxes. Timberwolf isn't very good either.

If you order a few rolls at a time the shipping isn't that bad (at least from the northerner). Buysnus wanted like $30 right off the bat for shipping which is crazy.

I agree with all the things that others have said about cost. Don't fool yourself into thinking that dipping is cheaper than snus. The other thing to consider is that there are carcinogens in tobacco products other than TSNAs. I guess a TSNA count is a good benchmark to go by, but a low count does not absolve a product of all mouth malevolence. I am not saying that there is some kind of evil conspiracy or some such nonsense, I am just saying that a low TSNA count does not mean that dip will not ruin your shit.

Can you scrape up enough cash to do the VIP program? http://www.snuson.com/forum/content....IP-Memberships

That is about the cheapest snus on Earth. Taxes paid, shipping paid, etc...

It's true dip isn't really cheaper than snus. I know you might be in a situation most people are where you spend more but it's easier to spend 5 bucks a day on dip than sixty bucks on two rolls of snus. Thunder is like 2 dollars a can you have to dip husky and stokers to get that cheap with dip. I live in Wa and I bought a tin of Kodiak and it was a little over seven dollars with taxes.

Oh and your mouth will get screwed up pretty bad at first, this your lip getting used to it but still having wrinkly lips for hours and an imprint is kind of disconcerting the only snus that did anything close to that is Thunder and it goes away pretty quick.
