So, I tried some Levi Garrett's and...

    ~~
I don't know man, something about the taste makes me gag a little inside. Does anyone make a wintergreen style leaf tobacco? I'm pretty sure I've seen green Beech nut bags in the distant past. I actually liked the feel and juice from using the Levi's, was a pretty pleasant experience (in certain circumstances), but I think I'd need a wintergreen or non straight tobacco with molasses kind of flavor.

Any suggestions? I remember when I was a teenager my older brother gave me some kind of Apple Jack chaw? Does that ring a bell? I remember loving the taste of that too.
    ~~
EDIT: I just realized there's actually a chewing tobacco forum AND a dip forum. Why? Anyway, I went to the Levi's from suggestions here so I posted it here.

There is a Beech-Nut Wintergreen, I didn't like it myself, but I think my pouch was not sealed well, and maybe I got a bad one, or not.

There is a kind called WB, I haven't had, but I read it's thinly cut, and tastes more like a Natural dip.

Personally, Levi Garrett is my favorite chewing tobacco. But, that is why they make different kinds.

There used to be a Jackson's Apple Jack, but I haven't seen or heard of it in years. I would search for it on the internet.

Also, give Red Man a try. It is very good.

Turns out the gas station I found the Levi's at also had the Beech Nut Wintergreen. Honestly, it's not tasting a whole lot different. If anything it's mostly just mellower in the taste department. However, being from Wisconsin, this stuff could have been sitting around for a LONG time before I bought it. The sweetness of the leaf chew seems to be outrageously strong, but seems to go down quite a bit after a minute or two. You know, after your taste buds have been fried. My gum is actually throbbing a little bit right now after having a ball of the beech nut.

Its not for the faint of heart, and it is very sweet, these two things are for sure. If you do run across any truly unsweetened leaf chewing tobacco, make a post about it, I would be interested in trying some of that.

And there is a dip forum and a chaw forum because these are two very different things.

The Havana Blossom says "Plain" and "Non Sweet". I have not found this locally, but I haven't looked either.

The WB, below, I have not had either, but I read others say it is not sweet like regular chew, but more like a natural dip flavor.

You could also try RedMan Silver Blend. I haven't tried it. But it's supposed to be "sugar free" using only natural sweeteners found in fruits. I think RedMan Golden Blend is also milder.

Silver Blend is not bad, and if you didn't know it was fruit sweetened, you might not know, but knowing, I found it to be sorta acidic citrusy sweetness. It's OK though, but I liked Golden Blend best.

Don't mean to go off the beaten path of this thread but how does Stoker's Original compare to Levi Garrett's. It's been ages since I've tried LG and recently bought one of those big bag a Stoker's from GetSnus but it's still sealed and chillin in the fridge.

Dang, I never realized Getsnus even sold chew until you mentioned it. I went and looked and am definitely throwing in a bag of the Stoker's Apple next time I order some snus to try that out.

Let us know how the apple tastes. I've been curious to try some flavored Stoker's but still gotta bust open this bag of Original Tennessee yet.

                          Jackson's Apple Jack

I realize this an old thread, but I thought it worth a mention...There is a smoke shop online that sells leaf and plug chewing tobacco. It's called Lil' Brown Smoke shop, they have Havana Blossom unsweet chew and Jackson's Apple Jack. I'll put a link on here. In case ya'll wanted to find it still.

                          http://www.lilbrown.com/c-177-apple-jack.aspx

Or just go to lilbrown.com and browse the leaf and plug section.

Yea.....lil brown smoke shop has quite a few of the leaf and plug brands and are relatively priced pretty well. Apple Jack is a pretty good tasting leaf chew, i'll have to get me a pouch and see if it's changed since the last time I had it. :-)

Thanks for the info! The bad thing about dragging up these old threads is that by the time I figure out it is old, I get so excited to see posts from the "Ghosts"! I miss these guys and i guess I will join them soon too.
