Is this stuff supposed to taste like wintergreen? The can I got has a definite wintergreen flavor.
Grizzly long cut straight?

When I asked my wife to smell the Copenhagen Straight, she said it smelled like wintergreen. I have also heard others say Straight reminded them of wintergreen. To me, it doesn't. Maybe it has some mixed in that flavor blend, and I just don't notice it. And maybe you got a mis-labeled can? I don't know, it's been a while since I had Grizzly Straight.

They might have stored it in a box with the wintergreen. Tobacco absorbs stuff fast. I'd be pretty pissed if that happened to me as Grizzly LC Straight was my sole dip when Skoal jumped in price. I actually liked it better too. AND I can't stand wintergreen anything.
Once my mom gave me a giant jar of Hershey's kisses for Christmas. There were some mint chocolate ones in there. I had three plain ones then I dumped the whole jar in the trash. Chocolate absorbs mint too. Yuck.

This is funny, I was just talking in another thread about how straight dips taste like root beer sometimes, and one of the ingredients in root beer is wintergreen. I have not tried grizz straight, so I could not tell you specifically if that is how it is supposed to taste, but it could have wintergreen in the formula. Its easy to forget that wintergreen is a plant with all the disgusting Americanized versions of it out there.

To my tastes, it is not supposed to taste like wintergreen, and the can I had did not. But if it has it in the formula, you may just notice it more than I do. I'd say, compare it with another Straight from another brand, and if that one does too, then you are just more sensitive to it. This is actually making me want to get a can of Grizz Straight(maybe tomorrow).
