Where to buy portion making machine?

Does anyone know where you can buy portion making machines and how much they cost, like the small one in this photo:

I have no idea, but I bet it's BIG money; maybe $100K+? It's a niche market, and can't think of anything even close really that would be easy to modify. A teabag maker would be close, but I don't know if it could be easily modified.

An enterprising snuser, with some machining ability could make something for home use, that's manually operated. The parts should be cheap enough that you could sell kits to other people, and make a bit of cash.

Yeah I'd bet that even in Scandinavia portion making machines are far from any sort of "production" item. Undoubtedly designs exist in blueprint form but likely are custom made to order one at a time. Even quite simple machinery, let alone something the complexity of a portion maker, costs serious big bucks in such a scenario.

I dont think theyre largely available for purchase.. like lx said snus is a micro niche (not a niche actually) .. the niche would be the tobacco industry ..

anyways these machines are custom made for sure and theyre probably 50 - 100 K or so..

are you planning to come up with a new snus brand or what?

The only manufacturer that I know sells two types:

                A 1-lane snus-machine:
                http://www.merz-system.de/Englisch/SB-51-1-T-engl.php

                And a 2-lane snus-machine:
                http://www.merz-system.de/Englisch/SB-53-2-T-engl.php

The prices appear to be open to negotiation.

                Cheers!

Anyone know of snus packaged in "filterfoil". Might pull that off with los but obviously not portions. What use such machines might have for us is a mystery. Perhaps portion material can be substituted for the foil.
