    DANGER! Wear protection.

Well - I've been processing the whole leaf in to tobacco flour today in huge quantities and I thought I'd share some advice.

    1. Don't snus while you're doing it! The nicotine in the leaves you are grinding will get in to your body in far larger quantities than you will want anyway!

    2. Wear protection. I'm using a food processor and coffee grinder to get the flour the right size for snus and the finest grains float around like a cloud! A face mask will stop you inhaling the fine dust. Gloves will make sure that nicotine in the flour doesn't get absorbed through the skin.

    3. Take a break if you are feeling it affect you - signs of incroaching nicotine OD are indigestion, palpitations/increased heart rate, restlessness and involuntary twitching of any muscle.

Who knew it could be this dangerous?

Cuban ladies are said to roll the famous cigars on their thighs.

They must live in a state of constant overdose

Try harvesting a big sticky plot of ripe tobacco, i know you have grown before, but when the crop gets big enough, Yowsa! I wear Gloves.

And I am allergic to Burley tobacco dust from grinding the flour, only Burley though, go figure.

I worked in tobacco a few years ago. You can get quite the buzz if you're not careful. And the damned dust will kill you lol.

I was sick as a dog the first time working in tobacco. I was only 14 or 15 at the time. I might actually enjoy it now.

I often wonder about the effects of poppies in the field.....

                          in OZ of course.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Good advice Squeezy! It's true. I have gotten nicotine bombed twice while harvesting with snus in. Comes on very strong through the hands.

right on. i never had a problem through the skin, but that dust will get you! i use a small food processor, and no mask or anything. i just try to dodge the cloud when i see it rise.

                              no. it doesn't work.
