Simplified design to encourage more people to make their own snus:

You need:
1 - crockpot/slow cooker without any fancy controls (no timers, digital circuits)
1 - plastic contractors 2 gang electrical box
1 - light dimmer
1 - duplex electrical outlet
1 - wall plate cover
1 - 3 wire electrical cord
1 - oven thermometer
1 - microwave safe sealable container (i.e. Gladware)
The top temperature for snus cooking is 93 °C (199 ° F) so anything that is microwave safe will hold up in a snus oven. I used some containers that my Chinese takeout came in. They are made from the same material as Gladware (Polypropylene). The 24 ounce size is big enough for my batches of 100 grams/280-300 grams finished snus. (In the picture I have the container sitting on top of an inverted pyrex bowl inside the crockpot.)
I control the temperature of the crockpot by use of a plain old light dimmer. This works fine as long as your crockpot has just the plain old manual 2 or 3 position switch (low high warm) if it has any additional electrical circuits it won't work. Just make sure that your light dimmer has a higher wattage rating than your crockpot.
I cook by weight, even though the container seals, I still have some moisture loss so every 12-24 hours I take the container out stir the snus and add back enough water to get back to my starting weight.
This is what 100 grams of tobacco, 110 grams of water and 13 grams of salt looks like before starting the cook:

Before and after:

Because the gladware containers are sealed (you still lose some moisture from steam) and I'm not cooking a whole lot of snus at once. I can cook indoors without stinking up the house. 8)
