(it's rockin' at 185 right now...)

Edit: Did some more testing this morning. This thing is perfect for small batches!!! Holds very steady at 185F without having to adjust the dimmer. I'll probably start a batch today. I'm so excited
    how did it go?

Sorry, I posted the details here:
      http://www.snuson.com/forum/showthre...l=1#post337345

All in all, it went fairly well but I have retired the Little Dipper and picked up a full size crockpot for my future batches. JustinTempler's water bath method is the way to go so I need more space in the crockpot to fit a decent sized container inside with some water around it. More of my tobacco leaves are ready, so I will be doing some more batches soon!

        All I can say is

        JT,

Thanks bro..............this thread needs to be stickied

You have made do it yourself snus so simple that even I'm thinking of doing it.

I stocked up pre pack but as I start getting nearer the end of the stash I think I might give this a try

I might need some help with that whole dimmer thing............did you rig it or can you buy it already set up (like it is in the picture).

Anyway............great job..................and snuffy I can't wait the hear how yours turned out.

          I made my own

Anyone that can wire an electrical outlet should be able to do it. Most 3 wire electrical cords have 3 colors. Green, White, and Black.

Green is your ground. Your "juice" goes through your white and black wires. White is "neutral" , Black is "hot"

If you're lazy and you want to spend a bit more money. This would work too.

I finished off the last batch of homemade. I usually mix it half and half with Ettan but I used the last 1/2 can straight. While it is not great snus it turned out be be good enough to use by itself.

My tobacco crop from last year has had a chance to age for a year, so it's time to make another batch of crockpot snus.

Good to hear that you used it all. My experiments tend to wind up in the wastebasket.

Let us know how it goes.

I've been using my homemade snus almost full time for about a month now.

I thought Jimmy might get a kick out of my snus can.

I've just about mastered the texture, grain size. Prillas are easy to handbake. they hold together just like the big boys stuff.
Now I can start concentrating on mastering the flavoring part.
