      That gave me an idea.
That would be a nice little business in the spring...
Start a few hundred tobacco plants and sell them for a buck or two at the flea market.

There's a guy near me that always has them on craigslist along with other exotics like hop vines. Someday I'll check him out...

Hop vines would be pretty cool to try and grow.I allways try to grow a different kind of plant every year,I think hops will be next year.

            Hop vines are awesome!

When I was a kid - like 8 or 9 - I designed a porch for our, well, trailer. (In my defense, it was on a multi-acre lot, not a trailer park).

I did this because I kept falling off the stairs we had. Apparently, I too could have used a helmet in those days.

Anyway. This was a big deck. Like 16x16. And along the sides and top we had that chain-link fence that is coated in plastic.

At the base, on all 4 sides we planted hop vines. Over the summer it climbed up the sides and over the top making a nice shaded deck. (You have to train the vine a bit to get it to go across the top - otherwise it bunches up at the top).

In the winter it dies back and you can cut the vine out of the chain-link and you get the sun.

It worked really well, the hops are beautiful vines. And when they flower (little pinecone looking flowers) they smell really nice.

Hops are nice, and easy as hell to grow. A friend of mine grows them for use in beer. I've thought about growing some just cause I like hop vines.

Good idea, especially considering the price of tobacco these days. I bet they would sell quick!
