    High Dry Toast

This is the King of all snuffs. Snuff as it was meant to be. Snuff in the old world style. It is very finely ground and so may be a bit tricky to take but don't let that throw you. Some things are just worth a few initial mishaps.

The flavor is not harsh at all. Rather, it is rich, smooth, and buttery. Pure toasted tobacco with no frills, brothel perfumes, or candy-ass flavorings. This is the snuff of the landed gentry and will have even the most ardent redneck reaching for Shakespeare and bowing as a lady passes.

HDT is my all time favorite and an all day snuff. No other toast (check that) no other snuff can touch it.

A must try in my most humble (and almost always dead on) opinion

    Yeah, its that good.

If you have been hesitant about trying toasts because of their fine-ground consistency, this is probably not the easiest one to start experimenting with, but it is certainly the one that will make mastering your technique worth it.

I think this and Wilson's #22 are the 2 main European toasts, though Samuel Gawith has some too.

If you think it is good now just wait until you are about 1/4 way through the tin................it really grows on you......... for me at least, it took a little while to really get the whole picture on this one.

Regardless.............I glad you got some and are enjoying it

Love it. Along with Toque Whisky and Honey and a few SPs that I like this is the best.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned it but HDT has the exquisite aroma of a fine pipe tobacco which absolutely does it for me. This may be a feature of toasts in general but it is definitely there in spades with HDT. Additional nuances will I'm sure develop as experience progresses but right off the bat it's pure ambrosia. I'm with the great and powerful 'dog on this one. Long live the King.

You most especially Pipe, veteran appreciator of the briar weed that you are. Can't put my finger yet on which bowl stuffing it evokes but I expect youse to be right on the case.
