    Gingerbread

This is new one from Molens and one of my favorite scented snuffs from them by far..
The grind is a medium to fine grind, But it is not hard to take and is the finest grind I have tried so far from them...

I usually don't do snuff reviews, But this one deserves it...

Molens Gingerbread is awesome...To Quote Chad... It's Fabulous!

It really is just like the scent of Gingerbread baking... Mmmm....'fresh baked' gingerbread flavour that lasts a long time. I can even taste it... It's a great all day snuff and will make an even greater Holiday Snuff...

Love It! Not too sweet and last a long time.. Not as course as most of their snuff and would say it is the finest of all that I have tried so far out of the 5 I have tried....

All you Molens De Kralingse snuff fans, I highly recommend it.... You have got to get this one... Love It!

Agreed! A most excellent example of Jaap's skills for sure. I love Molens snuff and this one is spot on as far as flavor. A delicious treat!

I am always glad when people like this snuff since it is one that Jaap made at my request. I had been using an early sample of Mettaijer and thought that it would be a great base for a gingerbread snuff. I described kind of what I had in mind and then Jaap put his amazing talents to work. He came up with three samples and asked 10 people to be in the test group.

The first sample was a sweeter American type of Gingerbread
The next was a British style (made with- kid you not- Worcestershire sauce)
The third had a more pronounced lemon note to it

No one could not decide which one we liked best so at the end of the test we just mixed all the samples together and said go with that.

What you have now is a combination of the three recipes but leans most heavily towards the British sample. I also asked Jaap to keep the grind and moisture like that of Mettaijer. Too wet and clumpy and it would hide the high notes. Too fine and dry and you would lose the low notes. I think this grind is perfect to bring out all the nuances of the blend.

Needless to say Jaap is a master snuff blender (whose name belongs beside the old masters of bygone days). Gingerbread is one of the best and most unique snuffs I have ever tried..............It is not sweet like ginger candy nor is it hot like ginger spice in some cooking. Rather, it tastes like fresh gingerbread warm and buttery made in the old school style...............in a cottage somewhere in the black forest..............or in the English countryside.

It is perfect for all day and yet delectable enough to be a special treat. It is a snuff a Victorian Gentleman would have offered his guests at a fine dinner party or shared with his friends at the local pub with pride.

I am honored to have had a part (small as it may be) in its conception.
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

        Snusdog,

Did you read about the tour a snuffhouse member took of the molens factory? He had a great time. I'd love to go one day. Jag sent me a couple samplers.. I'm very fond of the 1860. Also Nomad sent me some gingerbread. Purely amazing. I'm glad to know you had a part of such a great snuff. Kudos my friend. My next Mr Snuff order will definitely have a few tins of Molens.

              Just like real Gingerbread.

So I read reviews and looked all over the place and nothing really has done this snuff the justice a big old hoot of it in your snout will do.

It is a moist, brown and medium grind snuff that comes in one of those Damn plastic things that I decant immediately.

So my first impression of taking this snuff is baked apples. No apple flavor really, just the cinnamon and raisin cooking in an apple smell topped with a short dough. My mom made them that way and it is how the initial smell hits me. Memory....pleasant at that.

After a bit the ginger begins to come through. It begins as "Wow, I like the way ginger smells" and ends in a "FŪ¢K! THAT SHIT BURNS!!!!"and and it lasts......oh does it last.

I really don't get the tobacco scent, but I need to try the Mettajier, so I can pick it out. The drip is reminiscent of treacle as are the final notes.

Really, it may not be that extreme, but using it sparingly and having taken.....hold on.........::sniff.....sniff::......yeah that is nice.....ahhhh. It is soothing. Haha, yes..........AHHHHHH!!!!! IT BURNS!!!!! HAHA! YES!

Now, it is not unbearable, but not quite something I want in my nose all of the time. It really does smell/taste gingerbready and is quite the holiday snuff. I will be crying for a reason other than bills at the end of the month.

I do not want to dissuade anyone from this snuff, as I do quite like it. The kind and gentle side likes the initial scent and the sadist in me likes the ginger. It is really a fantastic snuff and artfully blended (as all Molens snuffs are) and the burn is short lived....but the scent lingers on.

Buy some.....and if you don't like it send it to dog. My 25g will last me through the holidays and I may not go back for seconds. Oh yeah, I will have some next year when I forget and say,"Hey! Gingerbread!"

              Just like real Gingerbread.

Monkey, I happy you did not have any issues with the cinnamon and headaches allergy. I hope all of my Snuff Brothers had a great holiday and are doing well.

I must admit, this Gingerbread snuff is beyond belief... I went through a 12.5g tin in less than three days! I now have 200g on order. If you have never tried nasal snuff, this is the one you should start with; and, if you are are regular snuffer, do yourself a favor and order at least 100g to start. IMO, the flavor is a cross between gingerbread and pumpkin pie.

This is by far my favourite Molens, the balance of sweet, zesty, heat & bakery is spot on to freshybaked gingerbread men, really kicks up the nostalgia of a treat after enduring shopping with the parents.
