With this one, I have always maintained that Roderick ought to follow in Wilsons tradition of selling the same snuff under two different names. He ought to repackage Bourbon under the name "Colonial Tartan" or "George's Remorse".
The reason is that, to me, Bourbon is the closest thing to an American Scotch made outside the states. It has the robust smokiness that is the hallmark of it's American cousins and yet is a smoother, more manageable, and slightly sweeter (than the plain Scotches) introduction into the Genre.
If you are thinking of trying an American Scotch Toque Bourbon is a great place to begin.
If you like American Scotches then Bourbon will be a slightly refined variation on the theme (imagine the Queen throwing a BBQ out behind the palace- same idea..........just less of that hillbilly edge)
That said, if you are looking for a variation on Whiskey and Honey the chances are you will be disappointed. It is a different snuff
However, a mix of 30% WH and 70% Bourbon gives the best of both worlds.
Enjoy
