This is a deep and rich SP for those who may not like the sweet and more perfumed SPs. The citrus is there and plays a strong and complex role with the deep base of the tobacco. This is one of the most full SPs I've had. So if you want your flavor robust balanced and deep-- this is the snuff for you

Certainly difficult to wrap my head around this being referred to as an SP but it is a damn good snuff.
Dark dark brown and so very moist!
Medium grind combined with the moisture makes this an incredibly easy to take snuff.
Every time I use the Best Dark I'm put in mind of the smell and the taste of a big black cigar. If I'm drinking, well this is the snuff, bar none!!
Make note though, due to the moisture if you purchase this in a tin this is one of those that needs to be decanted into a smashbox soon after opening.
It will corrode the tins that Wilsons uses after a very short time of opening. There are actually reports of corrosion from unopened tins.
Aside from that, break out a Porter beer or good American bourbon, add regular pinches of WoS Best Dark and you'll realize what living large can be!

Hey while I'm here, let me ask you how you would list Best Dark if not as a variation of an SP?
It certainly is not a traditional SP but with the bergamot in the foreground I did not know how else to list it. I'd love your thoughts on this.

LOL, Wilsons doesn't even know how to classify the Best Dark apparently!
On an informational page it's cited as being an SP yet under product selection from the store it is listed as a perfumed snuff!
So from there your on your own to go down that twisted ass road of " Define an SP"!
From one, of many, threads on snuffhouse:
"Colour - light or golden brown only
Mill - no coarser than demigros
Moisture - dry to medium dry
Flavour - the pungency derives from unscented tobacco. It may however be complemented by hints of the Citrus of Bergamia and lavender, as was the case with Fribourg & Treyer’s version"
The moisture, color and degree of scent all go against any definition of SP I've ever found given.
But then again, the variations in those definitions are wide enough I'd guess if one were to look long enough he'd find one that fit Best Dark!

Yea.....that might have something do do with it
Cause it should have no resemblance to blue cheese
One day pick up a 10 oz tin as a throw in with an order and give it a retry.........When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

I can’t see this being an SP either. Though there is a transitory Citrus like character, it doesn’t last. What I get is a wonderful dark cured tobacco with some mild amount of fragrance. If this qualifies it as an SP, it’s just about the lightest SP I’ve had.
