OK first things first................Wilson's Toast #20 is nothing like their Toast #22.
#22 is a smoky Toast in the classic sense of the word
#20 is a slightly toasted SP that shares the basic flavor profile common to SPs.
So if you are looking for a variation of a Toast in the same genre as #22 keep looking. But if you are looking for a variation of an SP in the same family as Best SP then you have hit pay dirt
Point blank- Wilsons does Toasts well and #20 is no exception.
Compared to Tom Buck or Queen's Extra the Citrus/Bergamot is more subtle. Mind you #20 is not a subtle snuff. The Citrus/Bergamot is there and plays an important roll. It's just not as pronounced as in Tom or Queen's.
Compared to Best SP there seems to be an almost chocolate undertone to the #20. This may very well be due to the toasting. Regardless, it adds a distinctive flavor to #20 that sets it apart from the other SPs in the Wilsons line. Also, the grind seems to be a tad bit more coarse than that of Best SP and the snuff seems to be a bit moister than Best SP. Thus you may find #20 to be a little easier to take.
The Nicotine is pretty standard for the Wilson SPs
All in all DH Toast #20 is a solid offering. It is silky smooth, complex and flavorful enough not to become boring. Yet it is not so "loud" that it becomes only an occasional snuff. #20 is a good all day candidate.
In the end, there are other SP from Wilson that I might try first (Tom and Cairo) but #20 is definitely one I will keep on hand.
Throw a tin in with your next order..........spend some time with it..........and then come back here and share your thoughts on it with the rest of us
