    Sandalwood

I've already made it known that I'm a big fan of sandalwood, and consider myself to be a fair judge of quality when it comes to that fragrance. I've tried other snuffs that have sandalwood as either a major or minor ingredient (QWS Sandalwood, F&T Santo Domingo, WoS French Carotte), and although they are each good in their own way, the new WoS Sandalwood gets my enthusiastic vote for King of Sandalwood Snuffs.

Sandalwood is a very difficult fragrance to get right -- most products using the scent end up being too woody or too sweet. This one is perfectly balanced. No other fragrances are present, as far as I can tell. It's just a pure, relaxing sandalwood on top of Wilson's excellent tobacco base. There's a slight burn, but not an uncomfortable one. Color is medium-dark brown, nicotine is medium, grind is fine, and it's moist enough to be a little lumpy at times. I think I'm going to be ordering this one in bulk. Highly recommended.

What do you think about Geo. F. Trumper's sandalwood cologne (for men)? To me, it is absolutely the best fragrance I have ever experienced, with the possible exception of real gardenia flowers. Alas, I do not buy it because it is so expensive. I am pretty sure you would find it to be on the "too sweet" side of the spectrum.

I know nothing of sandalwood flavored tobacco. This is the first time I ever heard of it.

Off topic but to answer your question - which wasn't directed at me ;-)

Not bad at all. I never thought I would like sandalwood cologne but last time I went into Trumper's they gave me a sample to try along with a sample of GFT and I used nothing else for about a week. I am probably going to buy full size bottles of the sandalwood as winter is approaching. The D.R Harris sandalwood is also very good.

I've never heard of Trumper's cologne before now. IMO, the best men's cologne which had sandalwood as a primary ingredient was the original (and alas, long defunct) Lagerfeld.

Trumper's is an old, exclusive barber in the expensive part of London. I came to know them through my wetshaving and their shaving soaps.

I love Sandalwood. Will buy some WoS stuff on this recommendation.

I own a bowl of sandalwood shaving soap by Geo Trumper, it's the mutt's nuts. The aesthetic of the wooden bowl with Edwin Jagger staghorn is hard to beat in terms of shaving decadence

I can vouch for this snuff, definitely. Good stuff. I'll probably get 10g of it next time, because 25g of it ended up being a bit too much at once. But it's nice!
