US delays down to the weather and US Homeland Security

I posted this on snuffhouse the other day and I should also have posted it here.

I have just been speaking to the Royal Mail and they have informed me that they are losing millions of pounds due to the delays and sometimes blocking of mail entering the US. Security measures introduced by the Homeland Security Agency following a Yemen bomb plot are to be extended until 7 February 2011. Royal Mail said that as a result, mail weighing over 500g in particular, for delivery to the USA may experience some severe delays. 250,000 items of US mail have been delayed in a UK warehouse for up to 1 month. All deliveries will eventually reach their destination, but delays of 2 months could be possible.

Please keep orders below 500g and as a safety measure I suggest keeping it down to 250g until 7th February.

The terrorists are shipping midgets who weigh 500g to the US to attack our freedoms? Man, these guys are on point.

Thanks homeland security! Snuson members, remember to only place the smallest orders possible, because restricting your tobacco ration helps keep us safe!

It was definately a longer then usual wait but finally recieved mine today. About three and hallf weeks.
Looks like there were quite a few obstacles for that little package to get to this side of town.

Hey guys---was just wondering how things are with this currently...anyone have a recent order from the UK that they can chime in on?

It's about Toque Time for me, and I want to make a big order, as in about 400g big. But I'd rather not wait 5 weeks for it, if I can get around it. I can split it into two orders of 200g each, but I'd rather not do that either. So I'm not sure whether to go ahead and do it next week as I'd planned, or tough it out till February.

I'm still waiting on a small Toque order I made just before Xmas, But from what I understand new orders are making it through now with no delay problems, And the orders from the holidays are trickling in from some hell customs warehouse somewhere....

I ordered my Toque on the 15th of December and still waiting.

Something tells me that if it isn't here this week, chances are, it probably won't. The question remain is how fresh will it be once it does arrive? I wanted to order more from Toque last week, but opted out until I get my last order. I still have plenty nonetheless.

I know it is my fault for ordering so close to the holidays, but it was a small order (just under 100 grams). Worst case scenerio, I'll just count my losses and move along.

I would agree my order that shipped from Mr. Snuff on the 8th of December never arrived $$$ down the drain. I'm not trying to beat up on anyone but I feel if you order and pay for something you should receive it... regardless of of the freight load, weather conditions or customs. I'll accept a delay as I know delays happen but to not receive it at all, I find it difficult to just roll over on that.

Amazingly we haven't lost one shipment yet. The slowest delivery has been 72 days, but it looks like new orders are overtaking December orders. From what we understand 1000's of parcels are still being sorted by homeland security and they promise every 'legal' piece of mail will be delivered.

Apparently Homeland Security is burning millions of dollars of Cuban cigars weekly.

Actually, there's a rumor they're being diverted to the White House for Presidential Inspection.

The word is that Obama has switched from cigs to nicotine gum and an occasional premium cigar!!

                        WORD UP!!

True. The slowest to the States so far has been 48 days.
