    American Snuff

I have been to about 15 tobacco shops and all I have found is Navy Sweet, Square and Buttercup. I talked to someone at the shop near my job and they said they could order me some. All I can think of that they could possibly get is Rooster and Fubar Grunt and I'm not even sure they can get Fubar.
Does anyone have any reccomendations on what I should ask them to order? Or which 6 should I get from Toque as a beginner? They have a deal for I think 6 for the price of 5 with free shipping.

As a beginner you definitely should go with the Toque deal, but do the 10 for 9 deal instead of the 6 for 5. 10 for 9 is the small tins, so if you get something you don't like you won't be stuck with 25 grams of it.

Everybody has different preference on what they like and you'll need to sample to find your favorites. My personal favorites from Toque - Quit, Raspberry, Peach, Whiskey & Honey, Original, Raspberry Menthol, Berwick Brown, Toast and Marmalade

Ones that I've tried and not liked from them - Grapefruit, Espresso, Apricot, Cheese and Bacon

I'm not a fan of Spanish Gem, but that seems to be a favorite of a lot of the members, so you should probably give that one a shot.

Peppermint is a good one too and their Menthol is nice - I'm not much into menthol snuffs anymore, but I think they are easier for a newb

If you order before the end of May you will get the free shipping.

As of the first of June we are having to charge for shipping. Cost of postage and packaging to the USA (+ World) has now reached on average 24%, 15% to Europe and 8% in the UK. We will absorb some of the costs and be only charging 20% for the USA, 13% for Europe and 7% for UK.

Sounds like you're covered for the Toque, but you should pick up the Square from the shop if they have it in stock. It's a great scotch snuff, though you'll need to be very careful with it, especially as a beginner. Hell get the other 2 also if the price isn't terrible. My favorite Americans are Tube Rose, and WE Garrett, but none of them are bad. There's a few I find a bit bland, but they're all usable.

I have been using all three that I mentioned for about 2 months. Square was the first Snuff that I ever tried and yes I should have been careful. Navy seems a little too weak and Buttercup is what I have been using the most. I will definitely place that order this weekend.

2nding the Toque suggestion. 25 grams is quite a bit of snuff, especially if you end up not caring for it. 10g is more realistic for your first try, and you get to try 4 more kinds, too.

Also, if you want to try other brands, like Wilson's, etc, some also offer a 5g can, which is an absolutely perfect trial size, IMO. Toque and Wilson's of Sharrow both make tremendously good snuff.

I just placed an order with Toque while there is still free shipping and I did go with the 10 Gram. The tobacco shop finally figured out that the can get Railroad and one other brand that I haven't heard of (and can't remember) that comes in Natural and Wintergreen. Now I am waiting on them to figure out if they have to order it by the case or if cans are okay. WTF am I gonna do with a case of 1.15 OZ tins?

If you ever do decide to try American snuff might I recommend Tub Rose for Sweet and Tops plain for regular

Both very good and amazingly not as well know as other lesser offerings

Railroad plain is also a good in between American................not sweet like the Sweets but yet without the smokiness of the Plains......much more of a natural tobacco taste to it.
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Most states have now got stock of Silver Dollar. If your lucky your local shop will have some and if they don't just ask them to order it from their distributor.
