Got my first can of snuff, have a few questions.

While on my latest snus run i tried out a new store. While there i noticed they had quite a few different kinds of snuff. I picked up a can of Dean Swift Raspberry. Have to say so far, i'm really digging the snuff thing.

One question is, the can i have is more mentholated than i thought it would be, are they all like that?

So how often does everyone take a pinch? I've been trying not to pinch too often but it is very enjoyable and i like the quick hit. I could see me easily getting carried away with a flavor i really like.

Is it worth getting a bullet? So far i've been managing pretty well just using the back of my hand or holding the pinch between my finger and thumb and sniffing that way. I'm going to order the Toque snuff 10 can deal soon so was thinking could order a bullet while on the site.

Ok thanks for reading, i'm definitely going to give snuff a good try out. It really fills that little gap that snus leaves and has me thinking of cigarettes occasionally.

You've stepped over to the dark side. Not all snuffs are mentholated. Toque is a good choice for beginners. Their flavors will say menthol if they are mentholated. If you are enjoying the Dean Swift Raspberry wait until you try Toque's Raspberry - it is my favorite fruit snuff. They also have Raspberry Menthol which is also very good but I grew out of menthol pretty quickly myself.

I am not a fan of bullets. Pinching is the way to go IMHO.

What I do is take a pinch of snuff at the same time I put a portion/pris in. The snuff hits quick and once it starts wearing off the snus starts working.. best of both worlds.

Most nasal snuffs are not mentholated, and a majority of die-hard snuffers prefer non-menthol snuffs for regular use. Menthol definitely has its place, but in my opinion it is more of a condiment snuff that is good at certain times, but not as an all-day snuff. Paradoxically, menthol snuffs will at first clear your nose, but later stuff it up so continuous use becomes a negative experience.

Get the Toque package, and keep your menthol selection to one or two snuffs. Unlike snus, don't be afraid to open all of the tins. It won't dry out or be ruined as quickly as snus. I started with the McChrystal's sampler which is also a great choice. Good luck.

How much iformation about nasal snuff do you need?
1. It's tobacco that you put in your nose

Couldn't have said it better my self. One is nose tobacco the other is mouth tobacco, figure it out, if you need a tutorial your not trying hard enough. But that's why this forum allows free speech and free topics doesn't just lock threads for no reason and ban contributing members. And your analysis does not jive with my 2+ years of experience with the community at snuffhouse. Ask PP, he will corroborate. For Christ's sake, its just another tobacco resource like snuson. It's not like it's killthecan or something... Just take a Xanax and relax.

I am a member of this forum to learn and to help other members. If I decide to recommend another forum to a member, it's not in a negative light. I was trying to help the OP, but you decided to derail this thread by calling the members wankers. Members, who by the way, often end up migrating to snuson (as I did) so maybe you shouldn't bash them because we are all looking for harm reduction alternatives. Now if you know of a "better" nasal snuff forum, we would all love to hear about it. Until then, case closed.
