Tried Jaap's new Gingerbread Snuff? I really like Bon Bon and Macuba thought I'd try this as well.
N0mad.................Bro......................YOU HAVE GOT TO TRY THIS
This is one of the best snuffs I have ever tried!!! It is second only to HDT (and only out of deference).
There is nothing else like it.................it is not candy like at all but more like a fresh loaf of Gingerbread baked in an old open hearth oven .................in a cottage..................... somewhere in the black forest...................by the cobbler's wife.......It is complex and divine and easily an all day snuff.
The tobacco is a Virgina base and the grind is perfect (it is one of the finest ground snuffs Molens offers yet still nowhere near a toast). The grind perfectly displays the scent (if that makes any sense). Too thick and it would hide the high notes of the ginger................too fine and there wouldn't be enough surface area for the butteriness and warmth of the bread. The nic is standard for Molens.
Oh and the flavor unfolds (it is not overpowering or wearisome to the nose but nonetheless it has a nice (non obtrusive) staying power. And as it lingers different aspects rise, present themselves for observation and then politely return to their place (seriously)
AND while you are at it.................... you really must pick up a few tins Mettaijer (and you will want to get a few tins of both Mettaijer and Gingerbread..........trust me)
Mettaijer is the base snuff of the Gingerbread and shares its grind. The flavor is what I would put in the category of natural (though it is not a straight tobacco only blend). I can't describe the flavor..............except imagine you were a tobacco farmer.....................and you were smelling samples of the leaves as they air cured in you barn................on a bright fall day................or maybe its the freshly tilled soil.....................I don't know...........but its an all day snuff as well
One word though..................If you buy them from Jaap................let them age a little (not for the typical ammonia thing) But Gingerbread, Mettaijer, and Holiandse Bolongaro all need to mellow and meld...............like a fine pipe tobacco...............what you try on day one.......will mature and come to its own around .........week 3 or 4.
Let us know what you think!!!
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

@Snusdog - Dave AKA Mr. Snuff doesn't appear to have it in stock matter of fact looks like he is sold out of most of the De Kralingse line of snuffs. I'll fire off an email to Jaap and see if I can't line up an order for some of the Dutch Masters finest...
I love the 1860.. Jagmans sent me a sample a while back it's a real treat to my senses. I'm sure the gingerbread is devine. Snusdog's description seals the deal on my next order.
@Snusdog - Do you know if Dave AKA Mr. Snuff has considered selling Molens in the 100 gram containers... Or does he just not have a market for the larger sizes? I just ordered Bon Bon, Gingerbread, Musino Tabak and Mettaijer in the 12.5g dispenser. Gingerbread and Mettaijer are the only ones I haven't had before but I'm sure they are just as exotic as the others.
The Gingerbread I ordered has been baked and delivered... Tasty would be an understatement... Amazingly decadent would be closer to a description... Like searching years for that elusive something and finally finding it... Anyone who snuffs should get this...
@Monkey I know the recipe Jaap list online says cinnamon but I can't really pick it out as a single item... Gingerbread sounds kind of crazy but it works so well I was kind of cought off guard... But as you know the Snuff Miller uses that great virginia tobacco base which is a perfect marriage for this scent... If you get it and don't like it I'll trade you something for it...

I dig the molens...Jaap makes some excellent snuff...I have a bad reaction to some cinnamon flavorings....bad migranes.....so I will take you up on that.
I am ordering next week and if it gives me a headache I will shoot you a pm.
Ok guys, I just got in a small order of snuff that I placed with Mr. Snuff (great service as always Dave) ….so I thought I would share my reflections...
God made two kinds of dogs in this world. You are either a lap dog or a scent hound.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Nasal Snuff. I hope you will find this Guide both helpful and informative. I have tried to pool together information and resources that I have collected over my time using snuff so that you can have them all in one place. ...
