Just Picked Up My First Can of Snuff: Silver Dollar Mint. HOLY ****ING SHIT.

This stuff burns like i'm sniffing ****ing battery acid. It does the trick and all, but damn. Unfortunately, that was all my local tobacconist had, I'm gonna try around for some other shops tho. Does all snuff burn like this does? Cause right now, I dunno if I've gotten my nic fix, or if that's endorphins for the pain, lol.

What other snuffs should I try? What have ya'lls experiences been like with this product?

I really wanted to try that stuff at first but somebody never posted a list of places of where you can purchase it and now have lost all interest.

POSCHL brands are good if you can still get them.. Otherwise, yes TOQUE is very good.

Agreed......Poschl will have much less burn and is a great brand to start out with.

First of all don't snort it! Sniff it gently! Go to Snuffhouse and this sites snuff archive and search how to take snuff, it takes a while to learn the technique. It took me longer than I am willing to admit to here as a matter of fact! Toque my friend, actually Silver Dollar is Toque. Get some SP extra and practice. Good luck.

Check out the Beginner's Guide to Snuff. It has a lot of good info for folks just trying snuff. And as always if you have any questions just ask.......believe me we have all blown our heads off and scortched our nostrals at some point with snuff

You can find the Guide to Snuff here

LowKeyLyesmith, I've tried all six of the Silver Dollar snuffs, and by far the Raspberry and the Cherry are the easiest to take. In fact I'd consider those two as very easy to take, though not as easy as Poschl. But the Poschls I've tried are very strong in the menthol and even doing just two or three hits a day stuffed me up pretty bad after a while, so I don't use them very often.

Using snuff takes practice. I've been doing it for seven months and still don't have it down 100%, but I do love it.

Locally, I was only able to pick up SD Original. It too has a bit of a burn on it, but is an excellent sp. As mentioned, it is easier with practice. The tin pours easily, so try using smaller taps more frequently as opposed one or two larger bumps.

Where did you find it? I haven't run across any yet here in Tampa...and nobody has come through ordering it yet.

I found some in Springfield, MO. Doesn't help you much in Tampa.....

I sent a question to Toque asking if the SD original and the Toque original was the same product. I have not received a response. I would think it is but suspect I will like Toque Original in any case.

If you were asking about where I found the silver dollar, it was at smoker friendly, and they had mint, WG, and original.

                          Port Charlotte - Harbor Smokes

They only carry original. It's good but the price-point wasn't optimal for 5g. I'll snag one or two for you and ship it up if you like.

I am going to hold out for a bit. I hope the Tobacco Depot chain up here starts selling it. I spoke to them a few weeks ago and am due for my biweekly "stop in and harass the manager" to the one closest to me.

Oh, for the OP, mint snuff burns the crap out of my nose. I am not sure what I like best.....but I generally like anything better than straight up mint. Toque Peppermint had me crying like a baby and I stoppedlike buying mnt snuff. I like menthols though....maybe try an SP or the Silver Dollar Natural if available......but I have yet to try a Silver Dollar snuff so....

Just picked up the original and spearmint this evening. Big surprise, because it was a long wait and the SD stand was right next to the general fridge! Right on the front counter. Was at a friends house tonight and tapped a good pinch of the spearmint in my thumb pocket while they were pulling their smokes out and then a little snort-@# DAMN!!!! this stuff hits!!

To be honest I was not expecting that at all and liked that it was not going to be something too watered down and over flavored.
Just tried the original with a much smaller tap and cannot tell why I am liking it so much? but seems like a smoother Poschl hit and not as dry as a toque but still strong. The menthol, fine gride, flavors etc.. really make it a nice clean, unique flavor and feel. Good stuff!
