How long do you guys leave snuff in your nose?

Until I shower or it starts dripping on its own. Sometimes I blow it out if I am getting too much nice.nic

How big of a pile do you usually stick up there?

A pea sized pinch in each. Use what you feel comfortable with but bigger pinches are easier to take. Back of the hand for schmaltzer.....same size in each nostril.

One nostril at a time per dose of snuff, or do you put some in both??

Both. I will not deprive one.

How often do you use snuff?? (I.E. once every hour or so, etc, etc.)

Whenever I want some. I have gone every ten minutes for an hour and I have waited three hours for a snuff. It is in your court.

What have you found to hold your snuff instead of an expensive, online bought snuffbox?

10g Toque tins are awesome for daily carry boxes. Remember to label them. Bulk is in Mason Jars in a dark, cool place.

What brands would you recommend I try? (I've started with Silver Dollar mint. It was super intense at first, but I've begun warming up to it)

Try Toque, McChrystals, Wilson s of Sharrow, Samuel Gawith, Bernard, Dholokia.....well, all of them.

How much snuff do you typically go through a day?

3-5g but I use 1-3 pillars/portions of snus a day. I use mostly snuff.

Also, the most highly recommended online snuff store for a broke-ass college student in the USA?

Toque 10 for 9 deal. Try a bunch of flavors and get an idea what you like. Berwick Brown and Spanish Gem.....you pick the other 8.

Every so often I try to clean out the nasal passages, and you might find a neti pot to be worthwhile. During the summer I found the snuff upsetting my nose, like I had allergies. You'll have to see how things work for you.

Me, I do very little early in the day. I use it a couple times at work, and then I use it a lot when I'm relaxing after work and on my weekends, again later in the day. That's me. Snus is my primary source of nicotine, and I do about 12 portions/prillas a day.

One thing I found that's very convenient is those metal keyring pill containers. I bought a couple at Wal-Mart for a couple bucks each and I'm going to buy a couple more. What's nice is you can tap a little snuff into the top and sniff it right out of that. They look like these:

The others here are more experienced than I am. I'm always looking for recommendations too. What's great about snuff is the variety, and if you end up like me and other snuff users you'll just want to buy more and more, and try it all.

Maybe around a gram a day on a heavy day. It's been increasing lately. Ultimately, it's a pretty cheap habit, or supplementary habit, if you will. It's something I look forward to when I get off work and when I'm relaxing at home on my weekends. It's also a good quick source of nicotine on those occasions when I need a hit. Along with snus it's been an invaluable tool to give up cigarettes, and I love it.

As long as it feels comfortable. Your nose will tell you when it needs clearing.

Depends on what snuff I'm using, and how much of a nicotine hit I'm craving. You just have to experiment and find what works for you.

As often as I feel the need. That may be a pinch every ten minutes, or a pinch every hour. I usually have a portion of snus in my lip at the same time.

Plastic smash boxes make great cheap snuffboxes -- check out Mr. Snuff's selection. As has already been suggested, the 10g Toque tins are great for recycling with new snuff.

I think you've already answered this question yourself. Try whatever appeals to you, at first. Later on, you'll know what to look for. For now, just explore.

Every snuffer is different. Use as much or as little as you like. If you use too much of any tobacco product, your head will spin and you may get a bit nauseous. That's how you know your limits.

You've already discovered Toque and Mr. Snuff -- those are two of the best, and will probably serve all your needs.
