    Bernard Fichtennadel

I've been using this a lot lately, and really dig it. I have to take back my first impression, which was "synthetic", but mellow after time. I don't think it is synthetic. I think it's just the strength of the scent that threw me off. It varies between a bright pine needle scent, and a heavier pine pitch note that floats in and out. That combined with a crisp menthol is like being outdoors, even when in the house. The scent lasts a long time, and has the occasional surprise return. My favorite trick is to follow it a half hour later with Molens A/P. After collecting the pine, you get to burn it in a fire :^)

I think this will be a winter snuff for me. I'm not sure I'd like it as well in the summer time. It's perfect for Xmas time, and I highly recommend t for those that like menthol, and especially evergreen scent.

Your senses must be way more intense than mine. I never even thought it was synthetic, just various flavors of pine. You are right though... definitely a winter snuff.

I'm still on a Molens kick... trying to wrap my mind around the differences between Gingerbread and Pompadour. Many days it's difficult for me to determine which one to choose.

You should try mixing Gingerbread with Pompadour... a very unique blend. Depending upon the mixture percentages, you get some really nice flavors.

How is the Benard Fictennadel different from Molen AP (beside the menthol)

Have not given it any real thought until now... the menthol has a lot to do with it I think... I've only used AP a few times... I'd say the menthol is doing major things to the scent. I can smell more smoky tobacco in Fictennadel than AP.

The A/P smells more like campfire to be. Kind of like burnt pine logs. The Fichtennadel is more like fresh needles with a back current of pitch. It's also bright, and almost approaching a citrus scent, but not exactly. It's like taking bergamot, removing the citrus, and leaving the evergreen notes.

              Edit:
Looks like me and wa3zrm are exactly opposite :^D I guess you'll have to try it yourself. They aren't really alike imo, but I'd consider them complimentary.

OK... I just did a side by side pinch comparison. Yes lxe, you are right... I agree the AP has a stronger campfire scent. I also think the AP has much more moisture. The AP reminds me of Molens Pepurment w/o the coolness of the Peppermint.

That is my main problem. I find several it like and mix them together and then all of a sudden I don't Know WTF i have gotten mixed up and although it may be good and it may not I just don't know wtf i'm sniffing and I have no idea how to replicate it if it is good but i still mix swiss miss with everything.

                    I think I have a mental illness.
