    Tin of tins

    A glass-topped tin containing 11 smaller glass-topped tins -- $4 gets you two:

I can see the ombré of the light-to-dark brown ring of snuffs already. They also have plenty of other decently priced vessels in the "Containers" section.

That's pretty cool. Cool site in general. I had forgotten about them. I used to order from Kaufmans West when I was younger. That was back before there was an online :^D Cool thing was it was also closer to WWII, and they had a lot of neat surplus from that time. Trouble was I didn't make any money, so I couldn't buy the stuff :^(

I hear ya. The C&H here in Pasadena also recently closed -- they had exotic yummies sourced from Caltech and JPL among others. I grew up in the days of electromechanical adventure flicks like Short Circuit, Real Genius, Ghostbusters, etc.

I'm thankful that All Electronics is still cookin' nearby. \,,/(^_^)\,,/

Really great find.. a good conversation piece. I'm assuming it's an airtight seal.

That's a good question! I ordered a couple of 'em to find out. And a sextant. I'm finishing up a steampunkish GPS system by replacing my car's airbags with a sextant and some old astro-nautical charts. Just press a button and so much raw navigational power explodes from out of the steering column and side curtains. 'Cuz that's how I roll.

So, is it pretty cool? It looks cool in the picture. How much(weight) would you estimate the little tins hold?

I feel cooler just having it. Each little one probably holds ~1-2g, and ~4-5g in the big 'un. I can't smell anything from the outside, but it's a hot mess of nose puke in there once the big lid is off. That might just be from how I filled each tin by scooping and not cleaning off the sides well enough, but they're not airtight in any case. More showy than practical, it's an easy way to display the visual range of snuffs.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.
