Toque Blog - Stop smoking with Snuff - your help needed

We've put this on other forums and you may already have seen this.

As some of you will know we are unfortunately tied by EU laws regarding tobacco and are unable to openly talk about the health benefits and harm reduction of switching from smoking to snuff.

By blogging we can raise awareness of snuff and its potential to save lives.

Please can you leave a comment on stopping smoking with snuff on the Toque Blog. We will then compile these comments into a report that we will forward to as many influential bodies as we can.

I’m guessing that’s ‘you’ the manufacture. As for me, i don’t really care or respect what any EU law says about being able to openly talk about anything i like . The last time i looked out the window i can see that i live in the UK - The right to freedom of expression is recognized as a human right. Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion.

It’s my opinion that the health benefits of switching from smoking to snuff as a harm reduction tool is obvious (Adjective, ob-vi-ous - clear, self evident, apparent). Unlike setting fire to tobacco and getting the smoke to deliver the nicotine (and harmful gases such as carbon monoxide), snuff is free of harmful gases, and tar. Since it can’t be inhaled into your lungs, I’d think its obvious there’s no risk of lung cancer, and other nasty things like emphysema, or COPD, (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) caused by smoking.

I'm not a snuffer nor am I in the UK so I won't be of much help but I definitely sympathize with your situation.

I'll echo what Frazer said...... It's the smoke stupid.

Demonizing Smokeless tobacco is ridiculous. Especially due to the fact that you guys have Government healthcare and any move to get people to switch from smoking tobacco to smokeless tobacco can't but have a positive effect on reducing medical expenses paid for by NHS.

Roderick I don't know if you can do it but you might want to contact UK blogger Christopher Snowden (http://velvetgloveironfist.blogspot.com/ ) I'm sure he's sympathetic to your cause.
Maybe he can help in some way?
