    Review: Lundi Neftóbak

    Lundi

I recently received two cans of Lundi to try out (thanks again, Yfir!).

Immediately after opening the can, I noticed that this blend is an introduction to snus (within legal parameters) in Iceland. The smell and taste is that of bergamot. Very citrusy notes, and the tobacco is slightly more moist than Neftóbak. You can handbake it dry, but it takes a bit of work to form a prilla. If you're going to use it as snus, it is best to moisten your hands with water first before handbaking. Of course, it also works great as intended (as a nasal snuff).

Nicotine hit is strong (about the same as Neftóbak). Taste is enjoyable, and not overwhelming. Also, there's no drip when upper-lipped, so that's a plus.

[Lundi is a snuff product made in Denmark for the Icelandic market through Neftóbak and Rolf Johansen]

Well, I've only got two cans. But, I would be more than happy to send a sample (along with the original Neftóbak, which is made in Iceland).

Whoops, I just realized you were from Washington state. For some reason I assumed you lived in Iceland; maybe this mistake was caused by all the new Icelandic members. Haha.

Oh, and your username is Seattleite. I didn't even bother to look at the left side of the screen.

That's okay. I have a couple of pieces in the freezer. The Malt Extrakt was what I was really craving.. But, I found a website that sells it:

                    http://nammi.is

I noticed "Malt & Appelsín" on the website.. How is it?

                    --------------------

If anyone is curious what we're talking about: Yfir sent me Malt Extrakt (malt drink) and harðfiskur (hard fish) along with the snuffs. While in transit, the Malt Extrakt exploded inside the package. When it arrived here, the US Customs had to toss out the Malt and the fish. Fortunately, the snuff survived the ordeal; and Customs took them from the old package and shipped them to me in a secure container along with a note explaining what happened.

What is the malt? Is it like beer?

Kindof yes but its alcohol level is very low, maybe a bathtub of maltextrakt could make you feel a bit tipsy :P
It has a bit of beer taste to it if i remember correctly been a while since i had some malt hehe.
